crappy dyno results
hey guys i just brought my car to the dyno today and im very dissapointed with the results the setup is
d16z6 stock motor with compression at 172 on each cylinder
garret t25 at 9 psi
2.5 IC piping
2.5 inch DP
2.5 inch mandrel bent s.s exhaust with a cat.
dsm 450's
tuned with cromepro by a very good local tuner the afr's are all around 12:1
on the dyno it made 135whp and 153lbs of torque ......the dyno it was on was a dynojet. So my question is why is it that most other people who have the same setup as me get around 190 whp and like 175 lbs torque???

thats not cool...any motor that makes more torque than power is a turd!...especially if it wasnt built to pull things...

well a crappy turbo would probably have EVERYTHING to do with it depending on whats wrong with it.
by running a cat you are limiting your potential quite a bit. also without seeing your tune its hard to say if its mechanical or the tune.

I tuned it on cromepro also
t3/t4 50trim a/r .48 @ 5psi
2.5 inch downpipe
2.5 inch cat
2.25 exhaust
here is the graph

turn it up . willieboy . i feel with another 3 -4 lbs adn a little more timing you could be pushing 185-200. running a bit rich around 3000-3500. pull a little fuel out there . remember lean is mean

Re: (igo4bmx)
if you make more tq than hp either your turbo is small and/or your motors VE is at a low rpm. Ill tell you one thing, it's no fun with short gearing (Z6,b16,gsr,itr trannys) except for auto-x. Im all set with making good tq at low rpms on a front drive car. I like traction, it makes me go fast.
id say this turbo is blown or there is another problem. If the cat is in good shape it's not that. you can make well over 300whp with a 2.5" cat.

Id agree with exhaust, but not so much wastegate. If your boost guage is going to 9psi, but the motor is not producing any power I can foresee two possible problems. Either something is choking up your motor where air is flowing fine into the motor but not out, or timing is extremely far off. Nonetheless, Im no pro, and without any fuel/timing graphs & dyno sheets my guess is as useful as any others.

Re: (khmboostedeh2)
if the boost is dropping off to 5 psi at redline theres your problem. you knew the answer to your question all along.
Rebuild or replace the turbo. Try a 14b this time, much better results.
