the fakes have been out for quite some time now. here is a thread from about a year ago on the fakes and a direct comparison of real and fake side by side

1. I wouldn't want to make my setup look bad.
2. I don't trust the quality.
3. I don't want to support the "Cheap Chinese ****" market in any sort of way.
By all mean's if you want to run there crap on your car then do so. You know the risk's and that the fact your supporting them/it...
Sorry if this comes across a bit nasty.

To the OP, I hope everything gets resolved and you get your money back.
TiAL has a good spot on their website showing the differences between the fakes and their gates. But the easiest way to tell is normally the price. If the price is too good to be true then it most likely is!

my name is kevin beeck and yeah i live in laredo, texas. i can even email you a copy of my ID to prove i aint scamming no one, dont judge me like you are doint it i was selling them cuz i thought they were genuine and i didnt know they were fakes saying tial on top and on casting i even consider putting them on both of my 2g eclipses, my feedback on tuners is up to 26 positive feedback, i just part my toys out and sell the parts, alot of people know me on tuners, now ill just post them *** replicate like what they are cus i didnt know what they were. i yes i always anwer my phone and if not is because im working so a text is the key.
to be honest i thought you just wanted a refund because you found them cheaper or something. when you filed a dispute you should have showed me that link from Tialsport.com and i would hsd refunded asap. now im gonna contact paypal i told them to give you the refund asap, aswell as the 2 other buyers. one of them didnt know they where fake but i contact him and told him. Thanks"
To the second poster if you are the guy that texted me then i told you something that the other buyer told me which is that the serial number was fake or something but i wasn't aware of tialsport.com and that were almost identical copies.

Re: BEWARE: New Fake TiAL MVS' out there
It's pretty sad that within 5-10minutes of searching, I found the chinese company that makes, and sells these knockoff WG's. There are a few different suppliers. Some look IDENTICAL to the real thing. Some are selling them for the cheap price of $20 per gate. other are 65-80 depending on how many you order.

Re: BEWARE: New Fake TiAL MVS' out there
a year ago was building my eg trying to find parts for it, walked in a performance shop saw a MVS tail 38mm for $140 dollars. to be honest i thought the shop had the price mixed up cause i know thats not the price of a Tial wastegate.. i double checked with the price and he said 140!
i freaking bought it asap...after buying it went home and noticed there was no instruction in it or anything so i kind of knew it was fake ( non refundable item).
so i just said screw it and installed it. its running perfectly well with my 2 stage turboXs boost controller so far.

Re: BEWARE: New Fake TiAL MVS' out there
Not to be a dick, but who cares. Why risk a motor to garbage like this, most importantly why bother supporting (in any way) this kind of knock off product, even just to see if it works. These chinese reproductions are inferior and an attack on Tial. They are not just copying the design but also deliberately putting out a substandard cheaply manufactured facsimile with the intension of deceiving people to think it is legimate Tial product.

We test ours to over 750,000 cycles with higher EGT's and they still function 100% after the test....this one was actually USELESS when it came out of the box because the valve seat wouldn't fit...this unit also caught fire 3 times - you can sort of see it in the video...smoke comes out of the top

Re: BEWARE: New Fake TiAL MVS' out there
Are their any legal ways to go after the people knocking off your product, or is it to costly to chase down international companies?
I would think something could be done to domestic dealers of these counterfeit products, might be easier, but I was just curious as to if you have had any success or have attempted to shut these people down.
When one of them fails and customers think that they actually own a Tial product it ends up getting posted all over the web and it hurts your rep, even when it is a counterfeit.

Yea I can believe that getting any cooperation from the Feds on this type of thing would be hard.
