Default Which is better to do FI on F22 or H22??

Hi.

Which is better to do FI on F22 or H22??? Looking at the engines itself of course DOHC is a lot better then SOHC. I heard some people saying that due to stock high compression on H22 you gotta down size compression rate, and you can not run as much boost on stock internals for the same reason (Cannot go over 7psi to be safe???). They say though that F22 in contrast has lower copression and with good condition stock internals you can run hell of a lot more boost on that engine (15 psi???). Assuming regular hp gain per pound of boost is 10hp. Then we gonna get +70hp for H22, and +150hp for F22. Stock hp for F22 (I think, not 100% sure ) is 125, and for H22 is somewhere around 190hp. So, after same turbo upgrade and tuning, we get H22 with 190+70=260hp; and F22 --> 125+150=275hp. Ultemately, we have F22 with a little bit more hp, and the engine itself is a lot, I mean, A LOT cheaper then H22.

Going to my question. Which engine would be better to run turbo on??? By "better" I assume that would produce more hourse power with money-wise alike investment in turbo? Pros and cons (possible mistakes) of my calculation? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Later.

do more research, you are on the right track, but think torque numbers as well.
11psi daily driven on my f22b2 accord, i wouldn't go h22 simply because the motor is overpriced. i am very happy with my f, its completely stock block and head, and i will be turning up the boost before i hit the track, mmm 1 bar stock block. the h22 does have some more potential and its braggin rights, but i dont really give a **** about them, turbo does me fine.

you are getting a little ahead of yourself, give yourself a whp goal and go from there. see what it would take to get both at the whp you want. compare. its never going to be just a turbokit, injectors and an ecu. many little trips to hardware stores let me tell you.

I am undecided for now. But i always wanted to work on old prelude with F22. I agree with you. H22 is overpriced. My goal would be somewhere around 350-400 whp. What kind of setup would be recommeneded?

Here's a question, do you like torque? If yes, then F22 will work, but R&D on FI parts for F22's aren't as developed as the H22's market. 350-400 whp on an F22 will give you an ***-load of torque that you wouldn't be able to plant to the ground.

Another question, have you ever been in an FWD w/ over 300 wheel horsepower? If not, you need to try it before knowing what you're getting yourself into.

yeap couldnt have put it better. made 237whp 196wtq at 8psi on an md and my car is a blast to drive at 8lbs, i rarely switch to 11lbs. first turbo car/fast car ive ever had, and i wouldnt ask for much more out of my daily driver.
