Default b18c1 drivability issue

Recently my car started to randomly sputter. I would pull up to a stop light and it would try to die, I have to keep my foot into the throttle a little bit to keep it running. It doesn't do it all the time, it has been more frequent recently and now i just don't want to drive it. When it does die, it is hard to start again. Any suggestion.

is the car tuned? it can be either running too lean or rich at idle. Your IAC could be clogged. Your map sensor could be taking a S%&T. etc...

My bad for the mystery post, the car is tuned, and was running great, 10 lbs of boost forged internals, solid engine. I have just been a bit stumped on the current issue. It doesn't really do it when it is cold, but after warm up it does.

not in a few years, lets say 15,000 miles (exaggerated).

Would a compression test give me an idea of the valve train?

i had the OPs same problem and it was an issue with the MAP sensor. difference was when mine cut off, i could start it right back again. it would just idle way too low at stops intermittently and cut off unless u were giving it a bit of gas.

you might want to check the MAP sensor out...

I am leaning towards the ignition issue, when it starts missing the tach goes a little crazy.
