You don't judge how much psi you would need to achieve x goal. 340 is highly doubtable to get you into the low 11's. just like sayin with 400whp you'll run 10's guarantee! Do you have an LSD? I can't remember if you had that in your build or not. Ill just put it this way, the more power you create the more you need to invest in keeping it on the ground, ya dig

Re: ARP head studs or bust! Wtf?
This thread is starting to get on my nerves. PSI! PSI! PSI! BOOST BOOST BOOST! POWER! POWER! POWER! Yet doesn't want to do what needs to be done to make it safe but wants the bleeding edge he can get out of his poor engine. Another one that wants to half-*** it and fishing for people to tell him its okay.
You think because one person got 340 YOU will? OMMFG When the next one claims 400hp or 500hp on a stock block are you going to believe you can get that too?

Re: ARP head studs or bust! Wtf?
Head studs, head lifting, etc.. is based on the average span of torque output, not HP.
B16's can get further in HP with stock motor because they can carry their torque band to a high redline. It is a form of efficiency. Big WHP and low WTQ is far less demanding on the head studs/gasket.
The other factor is bore size.. This will determine the surface area in which the upward forces is acting against the cylinder head. Big bore Hondas are also more demanding on better studs/gasket as well as coping with less sealing surface when bore gets larger.
Stock B16 on an Ebay T3/T4? My guess is that you should get some ARP headstuds in there. This turbo fall off its face at higher RPM, so you are stuck with making more torque and lesser overall WHP.

Re: ARP head studs or bust! Wtf?
im looking to use a turbo such as a precision 3254 since this thing falls off and probably wont reach the goal. im also leaning to do the block as well.
at the same time i have a b18c to donate once the b16a gives out and should be building it instead.
so more than likly the arp studs, 3bar and some tuning to atleast 320hp
save the built head and forged unsleeved block for later.
LSD sir tranny in this car
turbo

Holset HE351cw (60mm); Also as previously stated, this power level will not get into the low 11's unless drastic weight reductions. I went 12.30 at 120-125 ish (forget exact MPH);
We made this power level on a dyno pack at just under 14lbs... I think data log says 13.2; again, stock motor, not a lot of timing in it, but large turbo so a lot of factors to consider.

i got a 12.69 with a 2.1ish 60ft tuned for 7lbs rich. theres room to grow.
the ARP rod bolts are the next option...I am going to use arp studs, and gsr cams or a built head I have decided for now. upgrade the turbo.
shoot for as much power the tuner will go

Re: ARP head studs or bust! Wtf?
How much whp are you making again? Arp rod bolts on stock rods? Hmm, idk about that, not sure if that'll work on a stock rod the way you may think it will but I could be wrong. You do realize it's hard to get into the 11's, do you? I wouldn't be surprised if you need additional 80whp to achieve it.

Re: ARP head studs or bust! Wtf?
Buddy made 400+ on oem reused head bolts on his b16 and never had any problems, not to mention a few other jimmy rigs on the motor. I wouldn't worry about the head bolts/gasket at your power level. If it's tuned properly those won't be a problem, if its not tuned properly those won't help.

Twas only 230-240 on the mustang dyno. Bald street tire.
If I can gain 8mph in the qm and get a 1.7 60ft that's 11.9 for sureeee plus going lighter

Re: ARP head studs or bust! Wtf?
Getting into the 11's is not the issue, its going low 11s that will take some effort. In my opinion your going to need at least 350whp, slicks and a good driver to touch 11.3 or better.
