how hot are your egts normally compared to building boost of the line? i would think that you would be getting the turbo pretty hot.

I tried it for the first time but i didn't get too agressive with ignition retard and adding fuel. I was able to get a solid 7psi versus 5psi!

I'm gonna go tweak with it somemore.

is that 5psi preloading with brake or just revving against 2-step?

I'm using CROME V 1.14. I don't get "popping," but it builds more boost and does it faster than before.

I have the aem ems and setup and tried out the anti-lag. It works awesome, but as many people have told me "anti-lag kills turbo's". All that heat can and will destroy you turbine housing/turbine wheel and bearings...
With just my 2step i build about 8psi at 5000rpm on the line. With my antilag set up properly i easily built of 15psi at 5000rpm... and i think it could do a lot more psi too... The only thing with the aem's antilag is you have to set up a throttle range it will work in. I had it to something like 65%min 75%max. I didnt understand it exactly until i realized on day when i was driving and gave it throttle between those #'s the antilag kicked on... while driving.... So i shut antilag off and use the 2step.
Antilag is good if your car gets great traction off the line... My car doesnt and launching with 10psi sux...
All in all, antilag is only good for people who can afford to replace their turbo every few months and on cars that hook very well... otherwise just stick to your 2step...

How do you set the throttle range for anti lag in the EMS? When/how would it be useful to have it come on while driving using a set throttle range?

RIGHT CLICK SAVE TARGET-AS

With AEM EMS you dont need to use the Anti-Lag. I have built 22lbs with the two step in AEMPro

yea mine builds slightly more boost, but if the timing is actually being retarded and the extra fuel being dumped in then it should react just like uber does. I mean when i did it in uberdata it was nuts. Sounded like a machine gun....but i dont get any in crome

Can anyone explain to me when two step is igniting the mixture. I'm assuming it has to be when the exhuast valve is open, so the back fire makes it out the exhuast. But is it firing as the piston is coming up? Just trying to determine what kind of abuse i'm giving my engine with this Not like the 15 psi and track days on the stock block are enough yet

Depending on how fast the engine is rotating and where you are in your load map ignition values change (that's a given). Lets say at some RPM and load you fire the mixture off at 30*. This is 30* BEFORE TDC. The whole point of setting off ignition at different times is to have the peak pressure occur at around 15-20* ATDC. This will yield the most power safely. Using Anti-lag (NOT ******* 2 STEP!!!!!!) The ignition can happen anywhere from -6 to -30 degrees BTDC (ie: 6-30* ATDC). Depending on what engine you have and when the exhaust valve opens up add another 50* and that's when the mixture will create the most "pressure". The flame front may not actually come out the exhaust valve but that pressure build up will, and that's the whole point. Again, very bad for exhaust valves and turbo shafts (I'm assuming that's the problem and not so much the heat...I'm not sure though...either way it's not good ).

HUH? If I'm not mistaken by the way you are saying that it wouldn't work because the ECU would never switch to the high cam map i the first place. Right now for non-VTEC cars it's just not possible to have anti-lag AND have it drivable.

This subject has got me creating a script for Anti-lag for Crome. I'm hexing stuff as we speak and trying to corrolate some stuff. I think the real problem is that the ECU can only take so much timing. I need help on this and maybe a way to work around this. It would fit right with the FTL with a few parameters the ECU would do (add fuel and take out timing)

these changes were made to the low cam fuel and timing maps. So when your moving you'll be in the high cam, which is untouched. I hope you're not in a vtec car racing on the low cam only </TD></TR></TABLE>

Well that depends on where your VTEC point is but i do overlook that in this case

well... after adding 20% more fuel and pulling ignition down to 5* in the desired selection it still only builds 7-8psi. Thats plenty for me but i was kind of disapointed, I was hoping 10psi. oh well...

hey, my car runs and drives like a top, let me know if you need anyone to test and give feedback.

Because there is no VTEC...why would it go to high-cam. I've never tried, but wouldn't see why the ECU would do this.

But why wouldn't it? As long as the proper things are setup, all the ECU is doing is saying, "If this, this and this happens, activate the vtec solenoid and switch ignition and fuel maps." Why can't it do this for a non-vtec engine? You just have to get the settings right and it should work.
