Icon6 Need tech help

Have recently overhauled a 1999 civic D16Y8 engine. Aftermarket oil pump leaked from day one, so buyer beware on those. Was able to tighten the allen head plug to stop the leaking, but not it's leaking again. Will need to tear down to replace. The vendor was OK to exchange, but still have my time involved in the replacement.
The question I have is on the cylinder head to block oil leak. Used a headgasket from the same overhaul kit ( yes I should have spend the extra & gotten the OEM !!! ), so now that I have to do a tear down for the oil pump, I will pull the head and use OEM. Lesson learned. I will recheck the head & block surfaces to make sure all is flat and replace the gasket, use new bolts & retourque to specs.
Does anyone know if it is reccomendable to use a gasket sealer such as a pematex of similar product?
The other question I have is on a code P0420. Shows to be a lean or inefficient catalytic convertor. I've checked the manifold to head gasket, the mainifold to intermediate pipe gaskets, and the donut per-convertor and replaced all with OEM and inspected the manifold for cracks. No apparent leaks pre-convertor. I'm left with spending $840.000 for an OEM convertor. Has anyone heard of othe issues that will cause a P0420 code, and is there a aftermarket convertor that will work at a lessor price? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Go with a high flow cat for less money and either get an 02 simulator/cel eliminator or replace the sensor.

As for the rebuild...go OEM on parts like gaskets oil pump/water pump. As for gasket sealer "USE HONDABOND"

Please don't use hondabond on a head gasket. Permatex copper spray does work well though.

Obviously...HondaBond was suggested because of the mention of an overhaul kit. (oil pump/water pump/valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, etc...
