Default jdm h23 dohc vtec basemap anyone?

I've looked everywhere and couldn't find a base map for a stock JDM H23 DOHC VTEC to be used in CROME. If anyone is willing to share please let me know. If i'm not able to find one i'll just probably buy one from a reputable performance shop. Thanks in advance for any help.

See if xenocron or pherable.net have any crome/neptune chips. They can also hook you up with a obd1 p28 crome/neptune ecu with jdm h23v blue top base map ready to rock... or can call speedfactoryracing.net and see if james has any of my h23v blue top maps to sell for neptune/crome....

I have initially started up obd1 cars (H23V) with p13's...and to drive to dyno tuner low rpm then switch to p28 crome/neptune yes.... to beat on it or drive high in rpm I would say no.... bigger stroke 90 to 95mm be different fuel maps...

Since the nearest dyno to me is 4hrs away, i plan to street tune the car. So far i'm just collecting base maps so i don't have to make too many adjustments when tuning ignition. I'm looking for h23 dohc vtec and f20b dohc vtec maps. I'll be able to tune afr using h22 base map but i'm concerned that ignition maps for both f20b and h23 blue top would be quite different and will be difficult to tune on the street. I might just buy the base map from phearable.net for both the f20b dohc vtec and h23 dohc vtec so i don't have to mess a lot with ignition timing. Thanks for your response.

Anyone here has a bin file for jdm h22a for crome? I downloaded one from either xenocron bin files or pgmfi.org, can't remember exactly but it said stock jdm h22a. However it has aggressive ignition timing and i want to be sure whether the jdm h22a has much aggressive timing compared to other engines such as b16 or b18. Looking forward to any helpful responses.

Well, how are you monitoring knock? If you're concerned about timing being too aggressive, just roll it back a bit and try to creep up to it. take a pull and listen, back out if you catch anything. A couple of knocks won't kill an NA setup, just don't be dumb about it.

I like to start knowing I'm on the retarded end, that way I can creep up to MBT and stop when I start to see the local torque level off. If you start near MBT you're less likely to find it imo.

I'll be using a det can for tuning on the street. Yea i'll retard the timing initially and go on from there. Thanks for the response.

I have one more question. When i downloaded the jdm h22a base map and tried to open it in crome, before opening it gives this message :"Critical updates have been made in this rom. Please update ecu to reflect these changes."
What does this mean? Will it be safe to just continue and use it?
