So this is a shot in the dark. I saw how people with vtec motors use the low cam map to tune for anti-lag, they set the vtec crossover higher than what the launch control rpm is, that way when you're up in launch control you're not in vtec. Then in the low cam map, in the 5000 rpm and up seciton of the map (in boost), they retard the ignition timing and add fuel, thus simulating anti-lag (and building boost quick).

My question is could I do this with a non vtec motor using a vtec ecu? Have the low / high cam maps identical, except in the low cam above launch control rpm have the ignition timing retarded and extra fuel added, and just trick the ecu into thinking it's popping vtec but instead it's just switching maps? It would work because once you start moving, it would hit the vtec crossover and start reading the high cam map (which is identical and tuned correclty for that rpm), but out of vtec (at a stop) it would read from the low profile (which is identical to the high profile except for at launch control rpm).


Not sure if this would work like I'm imagining so please someone with some better insight, correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!
