backfires when trying to start after rebuild
im trying to tune this myself because i have no help,.
when i turn the key it tries to crank...then backfires.
from what i hear i need to retard timing and up the fuel..
lsvtec(gsr block with ls crank and rods) gsr head
12.1 pistons
stg 1 crane cams
gsr intake mani with middle iab deleted.
stock injectors(im sure they will work fine to get it running and idle)
walboro pump
p75 ecu(vtec not solderd yet)
crome and moates ostrich.
mech timing is correct.
i have fuel and i have spark.
pulled a plug shows spark and fuel vapor sprayed out the cylnder.
i wish it would at least kick over so i could read AFR.
anyone have this map or close to?
am i supposed to retard timing? i gave it one click back(arrow icon) and uppped fuel 2 clicks.
wish crome at least had a type r base map

Re: backfires when trying to start after rebuild
Use ANY basemap, it doesnt matter for engine start as long as the injectors are stock.
Try adding a little throttle when its cranking over. If its too much fuel cracking the throttle will lean it out and allow it to fire.
Tuning crank fuel is basically trial and error.

Re: backfires when trying to start after rebuild
it was the firing order :?( big face palm ) i guess one shouldnt go off "1" diagram on google but several to validate. started right up..but super high revs so i shut it off right away. a friend is going to come over and mess with the map.
it might help if i plug in the iacv too.... derp
thanx everybody
