Update: ongoing mess of a civic.
** updated pics on page 2**
update 9-16-06 bottom of pg.3
10-11-06 add'd catch tank/valvecover breather setup. bottom pg.4
10/29 "turbo setup"
PG.7 -11/29- rob moore nitro driveline axles/ turbo mockup/ek sideskirts.
12-8-06 pg8. 105mm throttlebody/ turbo manifold.
here is a small update on my project drag civic. it was a street car until it was stolen back in may of 01 (ya, its been that long) and this is where i stand today with it.
after going to the dyno on thursday, and then the track friday night with a friends car(hotrod civic coupe in sig) for the first time this season. it got me motivated to do something for my ride.
i recently picked up this carbon front end from Kens Kustom chassis. great bunch over there it weigh's 23 lbs right now. but im going to be adding a mounting bracket on the inside of it.
overall
rear view
makes for good storage
this is my catch tray. made from aluminum sheet metal, i got the L shaped 1inch tall side alum from a local hardware store. i then cut to size, and pop-rivetd it to the sheetmetal. the white stuff is absorbant, which is spray glued to the tray.
also recently got these Rob Moore/ NITRO driveline spindles from a fellow H-t member. finally after 3 yrs i can mount the wheels on the car. IT ROLLS
going to be tubing the front end, building engine mounts/ trac bars/ front end mounting. and everything else thats gonna be in there.
here is all the tubing going to be used for tubing the front end & mounting the carbon front, also the tow hook.
this is a little jig/tubing bender. it fits 1/4 &3/8 tube.
here are some previous threads on the build of the drag car.

ive always loved your car. ive been waiting for it to hit the track and i remember telling you in a couple threads to keep it. i think you will regret it if you sold it like you had tried in the past. keep with it, looks awesome.

see the previous threads, this car still has stock shock towers, these are just re-enforcement plates. the wheel tubs are also allowed.

lol. i could have it running in no time at all, i have everything to make it run. just not "drive" still need some axle shafts, half shaft, and spool to work with the gangsta Nitro Driveline.

how is your car coming? i havent seen an update in awhile.
im debating wether i want to run 1 continuous bar around the front, connecting the 2 stinger bars. or do something alittle similar to what you have done on your car. with the separate cross bar.(i belive i saw it on your ride)
tonight we (2.0coupe & I) worked on mounting the front end.
1. got the tow hook drilled/mounted ready to weld.
2. cut out the inner lips on the front end. so it would fit
3. made/ tack on the mounts for the front end to mount to the A pillar.
ill get some pics as things progress. im hoping to have this fab **** ALL done in a month or so. we will see.

Damn, Franks should have put a clear gel coat on the hood to show the carbon weave. That would have looked sooooo sick on the copper paint you already have. Looks like a very promising setup BTW. Good luck with the finishing touches!
