Sport FWD Turbo's
I'm shopping for a turbo for the new car, so far I'm stuck between the GT42, Gt4094 and the Borg Warner s372. Am I on the right track and are there any other
units I should keep in mind?
Thanks for the help!

Re: Sport FWD Turbo's (tepid1)
Sorry Lugnuts typo, and in testing...
I'm concerned about spooling that 42 up with the auto trans, that was the reason
I was looking at the 4094 and the S372, many more options on the turbine side...

My 4294 makes full boost on the dyno around 5800rpms, on a 1.9L motor, and that's with a 1.28 a/r.

I'd like to see more results from the S372, I don't know alot of people using them but from what I have seen they are a pretty good turbo.
I have an S475 sitting here at work I can make you a sweet deal on It might spool by 8000rpm lol

Good to see that car is running strong again Steve. You should be asking Brian about the turbo, the automatic trans helps with the transient response I would imagine.
Tony I read somewhere *a car you did* making 35 psi at 6500 rpm and XX psi at 7000... must be the old-timers kicking in again. Oh and you might as well post the whole dyno chart, seems like everybodys going 161 mph now (its the new SC61) well except for the k series!

Re: Sport FWD Turbo's (lugnuts)
Trans broke where that dyno stops. That was with the bigger 1.28 a/r, i used to have the 1.01 a/r. Lemme see if i can get a log....

Re: Sport FWD Turbo's (a1320addict)
Now that i look at it, it is not "full" boost, it's 24psi by 6k. Pretty good i think for a turbo that big. Most T67's don't even come close to that.

Yup, that's what rev limiters are for, right? lol
The dyno lost the tach signal towards the end, that's why the dyno numbers stop a little short of where the gear broke. When i plotted it against speed it kept going, but the point of that graph was to show power vs. rpm on this "monster" turbo. lol

Is there a reason to why you covered La1 and Iadv
what does those abbreviations mean?
I apologize for going off topic

Re: Sport FWD Turbo's (tony1)
I'm still confused on how AMS can make big power from a small exhaust housing.
I understand the whole big air in means big air has to go out, so how do they get all of that air out through the small exhaust housings?

Jason Hunt also uses the S372. He'd be a good person to talk to about it.
