Should there be a Outlaw Class Class 2014 ?
Seeing how SFWD class cars are running times that were once a struggle to run 3-4 years ago in outlaw trim, whats really the big difference?
Also Should OGS events have a Outlaw Class or start up a Truestreet 67mm class for the entry level?

they need a 62mm class that allows cast 67mm turbos . I think it is necessary to have the outlaw class. They are fun to watch and you really couldn't roll both classes together. the SFWD cars wouldn't get anywhere unless the outlaw cars broke.

If they were going to make a new "true street" class it should be actual street cars. I.e. exhausts that don't exit through the hood, synchro transmissions. no spools etc. make it a 62mm and reasonably sized 67mm class. The current t/s class is impressively fast, but its to the point that the 67mm cars are going just as fast as the 72mm cars. Which makes it pretty hard for someone like me to be competitive.

There are only a few true "Outlaw" cars left. So I'd say its a lost cause. You'll never see a full field again.
SFWD and TS cars are pushing the limits without changing the rules. SFWD and TS are figuring out how much power the tire can handle. EVERYONE as a whole is getting faster. I'm all for pushing forward with the same set of rules.

I have one of those simple 67mm setups. TBH im pretty sure my only chance at winning in T/s is if all the other cars break lol. With the fastest true street trim pass being an 8.7xx and several other cars in the class not far behind I don't really stand a chance.

Even though I may not have the best stuff or the fastest car, other teams hate to race me and that says a lot about the respect that they have for me.
IMO If I can do it anyone can do it too.

I'm just like every other average racer out there. I don't have the best equipment, the fastest car, a huge team (I do 95% of the work myself) a bunch of sponsors and I don't have a lot of money, But I have a will to win and I'll do whatever it takes. This **** takes hard work and determination, some of us have it and some of us don't.

I do all of my own work aside from tuning. I could probably even balance staying married and being competitive in the class lol. What I lack is time and the fact that I really enjoy that I still have basically a street car, which IMO is what a "True street" car should be.

you'renever going to slow down the fast guys to compare to the slow guys no matter what rules you change. they are fast for a reason, they put in more effort and time.
they make passes down the track, they make use of the data they have.
Lastly for the love of god stop looking at WCF times when comparing a class. Times get run at WCF for 3 reasons 1. End of Year most people have there **** on kill for records, and not going rounds 2. weather 3. track conditions
Sport FWD is still a 8.8-9.2 class and most of the wins last year where by cars that haven't even run quicker then 8.9 ever.
I'm sure with progression there will prolly be some 8.5-8.7 passes maybe during the regular race season

the class you listed is still a 9.2 class. Ricky went 9.27 on a 6768 stock tranny, exhaust out the not out the hood 3 years ago, ricky vanzant same thing went 9.2's. steve o just went 9.28 stock tranny on a garret 67 . hiboost feral went 9.35 with a k on stock tranny

Lol WCF is one of the only events I'm able to go to because of my job. I hope I'll be able to make it to a couple more this year since I wont be in afghanistan.
Also to clarify there is no reason my car wouldn't be capable of a mid to low 9 second pass with a bit more power. The only thing holding it back right now is the map sensor which I'm upgrading over the winter along with a fresh top end and some chassis upgrades. The car made 700 the way it was before the upgrades that are happening now. It just never made a pass turned all the way up.
I'm by no means saying that they should definitely make these changes I was mostly just spitballing lol.

Re: Should there be a Outlaw Class Class 2014 ?
Simply NO... Outlaw is done. No one has setups anymore for them except SF. 62 class is going to run high 9 most likely 10s. So that a 10.5 car right there. SFWD and TS are running strong. It really doesn't matter if you bring another class into it. The teams that have the dedication, money and do plenty of r&d will win the class..

OGS events doesn't have a True Street Class which I think will help the industry if they do.
Also same set of rules everywhere would be nice

Stop beating this poor horse.... ITS BEEN DEAD FOR YEARS!!!!! but in all seriousness you don't see these times at OGS events because of the track conditions and weather are not where MIR is at that time of year. And if you look at the majority of the winners for OGS SFWD events it was mostly guys who don't have the high end parts and setups

I think SFWD and TS can get full fields at OGS events, but not in years past. The sport is growing. If the sport keeps growing (more cars showing up) I'm sure there could be another (slower) class. That's how TS was started in the first place.

I have an Outlaw car, and I'll tell you its a waste of time. There are only a few of us left and I don't see the fun in just racing against 1 other fast Outlaw car at the events I can attend. I'm going to try a few more things and then I'm converting the car to SFWD trim to have some fun racing in a class that has a full field every time..

One class to rule them all! just give weight breaks or tire breaks for different setups..IE 62mm car at 1800lbs, 67mm car at 2100, 72 at 2300, 26's at 2450 or something like that. That's what happens in the rest of the world. All of this class dividing kills car counts.

I think it actually helps car counts and helps with diversity in the sport. There wasn't a TS class when I built my car, but I'm glad it was..
I did however race when I could even though I wasn't real competitive. IMO car counts have been great and I think it will only get better.
