Re: (dturbocivic)
yea uhhh ok. like i said i am no longer planning on running it. anyone actually provide real experience and their setup. not just "they are junk" comments??? i would like to know as maybe a stock motor could still use these and be ok. i would feel better reselling it if i knew it wasn't gonna ruin someones stock motor....

Re: (Bond)
it doesnt matter if the engine is stock or not, the supposed damper doesnt do a proper job, as you can clearly see.
there are a bunch of people that used this damper and destroyed cranks/bearings etc. how much more do you want to see/hear ? are you looking for that one person thats used it with no problems, so you can get that 1% of re-assurance ?

nope. why would u assume that??? my intentions are to see how a company can get and obtain a SFI approved crank pulley if they are such a problem and break so easily. thats why i continue to ask about the full race version that is SFI approved. it's needed for being able to run at the track incase u didn't know....

Re: Professional Products Damper
just a FYI . the OEM B20a crank pulley has no marks on it and no hex area to hold it from turning when you take it off

Re: Professional Products Damper
My name is Ivan and I work for Fluidampr and am very familiar with how balancing and dampers work.
If the balance job has already been done you do not need to re-balance the assembly. I am not 100% sure about Professional Products but we hold our balancing tolerances tighter than OEM (I really have to think they do as well). Assuming the PP damper has balance marks on it and the fact that your engine is internally balanced it will not require re-balancing of the rotating assembly. This is only necessary when an assembly is first built. In fact most builders these days do not even use the damper at all when balancing an internally balanced engine as the dampers are balanced at the factory and can just be added once the rotating assembly is complete.

Re: Professional Products Damper
P.S. even at 200 H.P. your engine will very much appreciate a quality aftermarket damper regardless of what other information is out there. I personally perform TVA (torsional vibration analysis) at engine builder and tuner facilities nation wide and the better dampers, Fluidampr and our #1 competitor, are so much better for the longevity of an engine. Basically as with almost anything you get what you pay for. A damper is often overlooked but can lead to many advantages including increased H.P. and torque, fuel mileage, etc. In addition it will save on oil pump failure, bearing wear, etc.
