Opinions on Roll Cages??
Hey everybody,
I am new to the board and this is my first post. But I do have a question and if it has been discussed before, SORRY.
I am getting a roll cage for my car. I have a basically stock 88 CRX. (i know, whats the point of the cage)
Right now, I am looking at an S&W Race cars cage or a Alston Chassisworks cage. S&W seems to have a good price and they actually list a CRX. Chassisworks does not list any particular car, but i think they make one for it. Any opionins would be appreciated.

i would go with a ken kustom cage. You do know you have to weld these cages in they are not bolt in cages. And why do you want a cage in a stock crx?

Yea, I know they are a weld in. I know how to weld, thats not a problem. The reason I am putting one in is because eventually I want to build the car into a drag car. I am starting to strip it down, and I might as well put the cage in when there is nothing in it.

just make sure you know what you want to run with it.. i would suggest not doing a 6-pt and trying to convert to 10-pt later, go all the way the first time, its easier.. (if you have future plans to go faster) also check out art morrison kits, my 10 point fit into my civic great.. http://www.artmorrison.com

I went with an S&W 8pt cage through Safe Drives. I honestly couldn't have asked for better service. Those guys at Safe Drives really know their stuff, and you can't beat the pricing.

Re: (Snafubmx234)
Well, last night I talked to Steve at S&W Race Cars (1-800-523-3353 and I think he was ext 118) Anyway, he walked me through all the different options. They have SCCA/drifting cages, Chrome moly and then regular steel, 6pt-14pt. It turns out the cages are on sale right nowf right now, so I ordered the 10-pt steel cage. it ended up being like $320 shipped to my house. I will keep everyone updated of when it comes and now it looks, etc.
