So I wonder who the first person is going to be to get their Scion to the track. Sounds like now with Norwoods projects going to the scrapper or having to get re-done a brand new car could be build before salvaging the old one. I was really hoping to see one of these things compete soon.

The Doom/Porsche road-race racecars were pretty awesome in the nineties. I know that Norwood had a hand in the Olds Aerotech project and set a bunch of FIA records at Fort Stockton TX.

The twin turbo F50 was pretty neat and I believe Norwood had a successful Can-Am car way back when.

BTW the Ferrari LSR cars were real Ferrari's not Fiero kit-cars. (At least according to magazine features of that time)? although I know that one of them ran a BBC motor...
I think Norwood was also involved in the Batten "Max-12" engine project but I don't know in what capacity?

Can't think of anything else right now...Not taking sides, just trying to set the record straight.
I will try to find the articles I have seen and scan them. Not easy when you have stacks of magazines going back for many years.

Yah what he said. Were those high profile cars just accidents? It doesn't mean we're all nut huggers for buying into the hype we've heard for 15 years. Unless you deal with someone a lot you can't really know what someone is like. The only dealings I've had with Bob were selling products and that's been fine. You are right about one thing though, every post you can find up to now has said nothing but good things, at least that I've ever seen. Now this. Besides that I would love to hear from the guy that had them build the Subaru. I guess the only good thing to come from something like this is to check out your builder extremely well before the build something for you, no matter who they are.

Now you're going to tell me Santa Claus isn't real!

It's all about surrounding yourself with the right people...

The Doom car was banned after one event. Why? Bob has never had any regard for rules or regulations. Why was there an article in Turbo called "Banning Bob"? This mentality still has not changed. Rado's car, Ali's car, Scion tC, Integra Max-4 Jalopy, etc. Very sportsman-like conduct. A real stand-up competitor.

*Think about this: What does it say about your knowledge, confidence, and skill level if you have to cheat to compete?*

Yeah, the F50 was cool...as an engineering study. Did it perform? Nope. Remember the Car and Driver Article. Pretty embarrassing. I've got that one in my collection.

Big Block Chevy in anything will set a land speed record. I could put a BBC in my bathtub and go 200 mph. Impressive? Naw, man. And even if the car wasn't a Fiero, it was built like one. The quintessential POS.

Don't know. You'd have to ask Bob. He'd probably tell you he designed it, along with the human brain and the solar system.

Bah, whatever. Like Dave said, Bob likes to keep people around him that are smarter that he is. (You'd be surprised at what he just doesn't "get") There's nothing wrong with surrounding yourself with smart people. But what's not-so-smart is taking credit for their work, ideas, and intelligence, not listening to them when they're right, and treating them as less than human to the point they all quit. How many people will be working at Norwood Autocraft in exactly one month? My prediction: Bob will find himself by himself. The writing has been on the wall. Now everyone else is seeing the light.

I commented once on his chassis design from a engineering standpoint before and based on nhra chassis cert specs, the reply was deleted when I questioned tubing size used, and bar placment.

Honda-tech is one of those websites. Everyone will swing hard from someones pictures if it looks pretty because they are the new "hotness" but then again when one or two people say something bad everyone jumps on that new BAND wagon. Oh well. Good luck to everyone involved.
