Default My battery cut off switch

This is the kind i have

I was wondering if its legal for Famoso race way and sacramento race way? I remember someone telling me for famoso it has to be push button type but it was jsut a rumor... any ways i was wondering if i can mount it to my carbon fiber hatch... where the key hole would go? Heres pics of it...

So is it ok to put my shut off switch right there? Or would it be to flimsy... lmk thanks for any help guys

Mandatory when battery is relocated or on any vehicle running
9.99 or quicker. An electrical power cutoff switch (one only) must
be installed on the rearmost part of each vehicle and be easily
accessible from outside the car body. This cutoff switch must be
connected to the positive side of the electrical system and must
stop all electrical functions, including magneto ignition. The off
position must be clearly indicated with the word OFF. If switch is
push/pull type, pushmust be the action for shutting off the
electrical system, pull to turn it on. Any rods or cables used to
activate the switch must be minimum 1/8-inch diameter. Plastic or
keyed switches prohibited

from my understanding it has to be on the right side on the rear of the car. i would mount it in the bumper or below the tail light if there is enough room on the inside.

it can be anywhere on the rear of the car i dont think it has to be specifically on either side. heres my setup.

what sanctioning bodies do you plan on racing in , CMI doesnt even check kill switches unless your 9.99 or quicker . other events are more strict.

The rules do state that the switch must be at the rearmost part of the vehicle...

Even though I seen ppl run like this(chevelle's, Camaro's) so i dont think that they will hassle you if its on the hatch or lights...

Heres my setup.... sorry no on car pic vehicle is at the paint shop

i'm reaching the point where I need to get a kill switch as well and havent really seen many pics of ek's with them. I like this setup.

I take it that your car is not a street car? No bumper reinforcement, That could be ugly if someone taps you in the back! Hopefully the battery post are because you dont have a alternator, and its a race car.

Bumper supports are gabbage. Anything over 5-7mph and they bend. So its pointless. Im guessing the battery terminals are there because it would be hell to try and jump the car if the battery was dead.

Nice car. ATS has some hot *** cars.

Thats great and all but if it is hit I would rather have the support there to stop something, then to have the battery ground out against the rear body...

there is nothing in the nhra rules about a key that is removable.

in our sanction if you relocate the battery to the rear you must have a visible(from the rear) kill switch that is connected to the main power source.....even if you run 18.0's kinda dumb but they let us run without a rear bumber too so????
