Finally some seat time with slicks!
Hey guys finally made it to the local 1/8th mile with the car on 24.5 by 8 slicks.
Wow racing with slicks is a entirely different beast, I doubt I ever visit a track again without them haha.
Setup is:
H22
Wiseco pistons
K1 rods
Bw s366 OTS 15 psi
Our own traction bars(went down track straight as an arrow without any adjustment!)
Aem v2
Stock tranny
Hybrid cables and shifter box
Best run of the night was only a 8.2@96, has alot left in!
We ran into some issues of blowing the ignition fuse so we called it a night.
We started the slicks at 15psi and worked our way down to 10 babied it off the line. We're still on 5 year old hasport axles so we didn't want to push them to hard.
This also doesn't have bbg setup yet right now we are on just a hallman manual boost controller.
Couple questions for you guys, what kind of tire pressure are you guys getting down to?
And if we don't have an ignition switch in the car anymore what would cause the ignition fuse to blow?
Right now it is just setup with a 80amp on off switch then a push button start.
It does have a junky lifetime warranty oriellys starter in it.
Will get a video of it posted asap

Slicks definitely make the track more fun!
Get that tire pressure down man, and don't worry about your axles. I start at 10psi and work my way down to 6.5-7psi in my M&H's. just be sure to preload the car and you'll be fine.

I figured we would end up around 6-8 but as I said we ran into issues. There's a bit of a learning curve with em that's for sure. I know I probably won't be back to the track with out them

I like em at 10lbs, but I dont mind a little spin. Sometimes I try 8lbs. the 2lbs. doesn't make huge differences in ET's for em though.

Re: Finally some seat time with slicks!
Another question for you guys, our step was only getting us up to about 3psi for the burnout, what do you usually shoot for?
We were only doing short 2nd gear burnouts

Re: Finally some seat time with slicks!
We were only managing 3psi so we stuck with 2nd gear burnouts.
Anyone have settings for a good 2 step on aem v2. We have played with it some and haven't got much out of it
