I'm a fan of ERL but when was the last time you heard of a Any aftermarket sleeve crack?(never) I've heard a few years back of sleeves sinking or blowing gaskets with random machine shops installing them. I ran ERL but as long as you have a reputable place install the sleeves it's rare that you will have an issue. As far as rods go I ran eagle rods with upgraded bolts and never had an issue at almost 600whp. But if I had to do it again I would choose carillo with Carr bolts. I think the places these aftermarket rods fail are usually the rod bolts and wrist pins. Hope my advice helps. Good luck with your build

That's so far from the truth.

Most big power guys run AEBS, GE or Darton MIDS for a reason.

Sleeves don't sink because they are bad products. You need to find a new machine shop if you're having that problem.

1st motor i used Rs Sleeve, cust 10:5.1 Arias Piston, small pin, Eagle rod reg bolt and made 932 and 610tq on a dynojet on 36psi 6766 turbo. Sold that turbo and used precision Gt4272 Ran the car on 32psi which made 881hp... It lasted all season Took the motor apart for an upgrade, Rods were fine surprsed the **** outta me with the small bolt... It was intended for a street setup.
New motor has 10:2.1 Cp pistons, Carrillo ProH with Carr bolt, New turbo, New turbo manifold, New intake manifold, a few new other things. I wanted to feel sumwhat safe on boosting 40+++ psi. After the Holiday 4th of july should be putting it all together. Hopfully everything will be done in the next few weeks depending on parts/backorder ****.

A sleeve is a solid piece of material with no moving parts. So how can it sink on its own?

A sleeve is only going to move if you give it somewhere to go. This comes down to incorrect installation or incorrect machining of the block. Any sleeve will sink if it is not seated and unfortunately some shops do not follow directions and deck the block without seating the sleeve. This is primarily what causes the sleeve to sink, not the sleeve....

It's sad when you would think this is the most obvious common sense thing ever when installing these cans.
