Re: CNCWerx CSS Block Cut In Half!!!!
I dont think cooling is an issue overall but there has to be som argument that taking up that much of the top of the cylinders without direct cooling to the hottest part of the sleeve has to cause some sort of issue. i would imagine on pump gas the envelope couldnt be pushed as much do to an increase in the potential for detonation with hot spots. But overall the system seems to work very well for the cost and thumbs up to these guys !

It's only half an inch or so in height and it's aluminum. The aluminum is going to dissipate the heat. It still flows water, may be slightly restricted, but the OEM water pump doesn't flow that much for any noticable difference.
I personally don't see it being an issue. Look at the other sleeving companies that do something similar IE: ERL and Darton (mids)

Re: CNCWerx CSS Block Cut In Half!!!!
I am not saying it wont dissipate heat well BUT honda designed these blocks with open deck for a reason is all im getting at. It keeps coolant at the top of the cylinder which transfers heat alot better than a solid piece of aluminum at the top. I am in no way saying it will cause a problem as your system really seems to do a great job just throwing it out there. I have a spare GSR block laying around that i might even send out just to try these out for my new setup next year.

At this time I have not had any B20 people report back with dyno sheets or timeslips. Most of the B20's I've done so far have been for all-motor set-ups and NOS.

Boost and potential power goal? Really enjoying this thread, can't believe it's not gaining more attention, I gotta quit talking about it and just get a 2.0L block and see how well itll withstand the nitrous I wanna throw at it.
