Default Burnout box help needed.

This is posted in the 06 si area, but there wasn't much info, so I probably should have just started here, where hopefully there is more exposure/informative people that can offer insight.

I got my hoosier drag radials mounted on my rsx wheels, went outside the shop and made a wetbox... revved up the motor to the factory limited 5500rpms, dumped the clutch, and the car pulls itself. The tires don't get spinning fast enough with the limited 5500rpms to sit in the wetbox... So basically the drag radials are a complete waste of money....hopefully at the strip the wetbox is a lot more 'slippery' and allows me to sit there and warm these up otherwise $500 into RSX wheels and drag radials wasted

any insight on how to help this situation would be SUPER

Heres a few pics:

is that the same concrete you did the burnout on?
a burn box at a track will be a little less harsh. you should be ok.

car pulls .. isn't that good ? doesn't that mean its gripping good ? plus its much different at the track then on concrete. i don't think those tires are a waste but you should goto the track and run them. gl!

Thank you for the info, that is what I was hoping to hear from other drag racers.. I understand that there will be a few layers of rubber on the burnout box, so adding water to a rubber layered waterbox vs. regular concrete should hopefully be much more successful....

local track opens June 3rd

You sure those are drag radials? They look an awful lot like A/R3S04s... Which are Road Race/Autocross tires with STIFF sidewalls. Not exactly the best drag tire.

same look but different construction, i used to have a pair the sidewalls are real soft. as for the question on hand, i never really had a problem heating those up in the burnout box in my old rsx just make sure you yank that handbrake real good

Get the 5500rpms safety feature taken off of the ECU Chip or get an After market Chip!

Yes I am sure they are drag radials. Check into the Hoosier DOT drag radials

please elaborate on this 'chip' you are speaking of

2006 Civic Si has nothing ecu wise available. Maybe you were referring to the old S200/S300 hondata 'chips', otherwise I have NO idea what you are talking about?!?!?!

I did, it bogged, but then again when I tried it wasn't in a true 'wetbox' it was 'wet concrete'.... I don't want to look like a friggin idiot at the track trying to do a burnout in 2nd, and just bog out of the box...

So do I just sit in 1st gear bouncing the rev limiter IF I am able to get it to spin fast enough? BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG on the limiter?!?!?!

im gona help you out with a propper burnout with drag radials..
first start at 16psi and work your way dowb to 12 once you get the hang of the burn out..
make sure theres enough water in the box..most boxes have a dip with the water
as you pull thru the box spin the tires with a quick throttle kick, only go out of the box about a foot or so...set the ebrake...now this is the most important part.....DO THE BURNOUT IN 2ND GEAR!!!!
rev to 45-5000 and slowly dump the clutch....you will feel the tires spinning, turn the wheels left and right..bringing the rpms up and down....when u feel the car starting to pull forward let go of the ebrake and keep in the gas burning them forward....take the line and your good...i pull 1.71 60 foot with bfg's with this process...
