Re: AEM's new Infinity-10 Standalone
I was also wondering, how are they gonna handle triggering? Are they gonna supply just a host of pre configured trigger patterns, or will it also be adjustable by the end user for odd trigger setups. For instance will we be able to setup non-symetrical triggers, as well as triggers with uneven and or extra teeth? What about for cam control? What kind of flexibility will the end user have to setup un-common patterns for cam and crank?
What about general purpose mapping sorta like motec where you can select any axis in/out and pretty much build a table to do anything you want?

The second question we are still looking into building different parts of the software. This may be implemented of this may be a later function available to the Top tuners like we mentioned at SEMA and PRI.

No real public updates although we are currently building the new web page for the Infinity so stay tuned for that once it is released.
Timeline is still as before. At SEMA we were saying first quarter of the year/hopefully January. But of course we dont want to release it early so first quarter would be the ideal date.

Looks real nice :D
I want to be able to adjust the launch control from a switch on the steering wheel (a switch with 6-10 different positions, or two switches like they use in rallycross (when you set them to show 6 and 4 you get 6400pm).
Will this be possible?
Also I find it a bit strange that you need to pay extra for basic stuff like full throttle shifting.

Carey Bales is also running the Infinity unit on his S2000 this year. We have a few cars at the shop with it as well. I will have Jay post a little later today to see if he needs to add anything as it has been a while since the thread was created.

Re: AEM's new Infinity-10 Standalone
AEM have released some info on how to wire it to obd-1/2-honda, and k-series btw. It's in a .pdf.
So it should be more or less ready to use for the average racing joe now.

So, did this turn out to be the game changer?

I've worked with both Speed Factory/Sipes Brothers Racing and Felix Medina with their recent switch to the Infinity-10 and both have had great feedback, and results.
Joel's car is obviously doing it's thing, Felix has been testing and will be racing this weekend at MIR

Best ecu I ever test, wont change it for nothing.
Had the launch set too low at the burnout box and all i had to do is turn a *** on my steering wheel. I have an in car video of my 1/2 pass but dont know how to post .
Went 1.57 /4.00/6.00@134 ..9.8@110 mph on the first hit with old tires. Full TC not a ground limiter.
had Fuel press dropping and its cool how the ecu compensates for the drop.
i'm runing my car in close loop with very little FB , the VE map is same as the dyno when i dyno a few moth ago.

Re: AEM's new Infinity-10 Standalone
I'm over a year in with the Infinity and it's tremendously powerful in regards to strategy and execution. The feedback and protect features will save you in the event you have a fueling or oiling issue. The software is pretty straight forward as most users really don't need to see a lot of the advanced features however you can scroll through and see them as you add things to your layout/working pages. Not that most of you have issues with powering the cars over but to be able to tie TC/accelerometer/boost control and internal logging into the mix it starts to replace multiple ECUs in some racecars. The VE tuning is very straight forward and for those of you that tune in PW it will be a welcome change. The drive by wire will also come in handy in terms of power management and if you notice most of the OE manufactures are closing the throttle as the max engine speed is reached to ease the stress on hard parts. The boost control is base+PID and you can configure axis on many tables just like the Motec. In terms of the "gold box" I took mine out and sold it putting a couple grand back in my pocket with full confidence with the AEM Infinity. The transient fueling is better than any ECU I've ever tuned and the knock control isn't looking just at the sensor but what cylinder is making the racket.
I don't spend a lot of time at my desk but if you've got some specific questions you can post them up here or call the shop and I'll do my best to field them.
Thanks.

Re: AEM's new Infinity-10 Standalone
I just wanted to bump this thread and see if anyone is running this in a Prelude or on an H22 around here.
I have had an Infinity 6 on my Supra for over a year now and love it. So much so, that I created a 52mm can bus gauge for it:

Right now my Prelude is stock with exception of an intake and it is begging for a turbo.

Re: AEM's new Infinity-10 Standalone
Any thoughts on AEM's Infinity vs. Motec's new M1 series ECU? I', digging the simplicity and features of the Infinity and I was wondering if it's worth the extra cost for the M1.

Spitwad I Know of one guy up here running an Infinity6 in a Prelude, granted it is a J-swapped Prelude, but he likes it so far. Not on H-T, so if you want to get more info shoot me a PM.
