^ youll eat anything with cheese on it!
I have had a few people ask about this race since this post was made here on h-t but we sure as hell ain't lookin to race in a class with no minimum weight and so forth. I don't see anyone being happy with the no minimum weight thing other then one car. That's just dumb. Follow the guidelines of street fighter and call it a day. The lexan, carbon doors and no minimum weight thing among others it the complete opposite way of what is tryin be done as far as making parity among rule books. Even hot rod had a minimum weight!

Miller I'm sure if you're coming down or have some clients that are interested in making this trip, the rules can be changed so its a level playing field so everyones happy.

That's exactly my point about this whole ordeal. Let's change the rules so "xyz" person will come. Thats not how it's supposed to be. I know you all want to stroke tony to see him
Show up and finally break my record but rewriting the entire rule book around the car they built is just hilarious. Look at guys like kaizen, speed factory and other "outlaw" cara that were built around the 2400, no mini tubs, no lightweight body panels, no spindle mount etc etc etc. I am all for the grey area of the rules as most know and I exploit those parts but building a car outside the rule book and then people changing the "outlaw" rules to accept is just redic. Not sure if you follow outlaw rwd drag racing but they have learned from the mistakes you all are making. You all need to pay attention.

LOL. You guys forget about me, I built my car for me this go round. And Miller, really gonna bag on spindle mount rears? I didn't try to hide mine with fake lug nuts...
I don't care about the rules. If someone wants me to race and my car fits the rules, I might come. If my car doesn't fit the rules, I won't be there. Drag racing the Honda is just fun and games now...

Not bagging on em, I have a variation of a spindle mount wheel but I have 5 lug nuts that makes my suspension legal per the rules. (grey area) but its ok.
Did it go 7's yet?

Haha, "5 lug nuts" is true. I guess it's a grey area in the assumption that the lug nuts hold the wheel on...

I don't think anyone that is organizing the event is stroking Tony , they just want some bigger names at the event so the event can be a success. Our last import wars event had 4 cars in the one class that's kind of setup like the sfwd class.
I have nothing to do with the event though, I'm just tossing money in for the pot.

Darren you bring what to the conversation? At this point your opinion is as strong as tepids haha
Tony, I bet my brakes can stay on the car and yours can't If need to remove the wheel. Either way it was a grey area in the way the rules were written. There is a lot of those but there is a difference between grey areas and going against the rulebook.

What rulebook? Jason Miller said spindle mounts were legal. Spindle mounts are legal at IFO as well. Who's rules that apply to me have I broken?
And you're not kidding anyone with your nylock lug nuts on your nuformz spindle mount kit. Your brake rotor bolts to the wheel just like mine does.

If that's the case then copy and paste the world
Cup street fighter rules and call it a day. World cup has a hot rod class too so the ones who don't fit that rule book can run hot rod.

This will probably only be a once a year event and who knows if it be back next year, I'm sure a lot of other things will come into play ( track setup, the track officials ect... ) about people coming back next year if this event does happen.

I just want this event to be successful. Comments and concerns should be directed toward a balance of competitive classes and racer turnout to insure a fun, entertaining, and huge event for racers, fans, and sponsors.
As a competitor, I want the rules to put the racers in close competition. However, if those rules keep racers from showing up and the class turnout sucks then what's the point. The looser the rules = more cars = more fans = more sponsors nad vendors.
Since this is the first year of this event (and not much notice) it might be better to loosen up on the rules to establish this as an annual event. Once established as a successful event, then fine tune the rules before next year giving people plenty of time to setup cars accordingly.
Edit: I think that an event that tries to pull racers from all over the country should have rules that fit most cars currently competing in events. A good example of this was the IFO Gamblers' race in vegas. It was easy to get all the racers to agree on the IFO rules because we all were currently racing with those rules regaurdless of where we were from. It was the fastest I've seen racers agree on rules and confirm attendance. Thats what we need.

^ I agree, but your ready to compete at no weight?
This is a honest question, meaning you can be at a 2-300 lbs disadvantage?

Even on the high side a 2100lbs car has a huge advantage over a 2400lbs car. Every 100lbs does a lot.

I will say that our car is 2450. I could remove about 100lbs of ballast easily, but I don't think I would mainly because that where that weight is plays a key role in our badass 1/8th mile traction I think we would do just fine against a car 100-150lbs lighter, but 300lbs would be pushing it.
Maybe a lower minimum weight would be appropriate. Something like 2300lbs. Just a thought. People that ACTUALLY want to go need to chime in and state what they want, not just bitch. If everyone can agree on one thing then we can move on!

Obviously you could get lighter then what I put with be creative. It's not a jar as some people make it. Just a little imagination and a lot of time.

My car is 2160 as it sits. All glass and carbon doors. The carbon copes have already cracked and will be replaced with stock doors and the intercooler will go on. Should be 2250 or so all said and done. Will weigh what it needs to weigh given rules at a race. Will weigh 2250 or so at races with no min.
