Default Tips on starting the civic after a few years of sitting?

I plan to get the 83 running again soon. I'll change the oil, filter, fuel filter etc before starting, but what else should I check or change before I attempt to fire it up?

I'm sure the fuel is worthless. It's been in the garage for 2+ years, and then outside for the last 3 years+. Can you drain the fuel easily in these cars, or do you need to drop the tank?

Might want to check tires pressure and brakes. Dropping the gas tank need more work but might be work checking to see if the tank inside o.kk..

I'll be more surprised if the tires are in good shape. They were basically new the last time I parked the car, but this much sitting can't be good for them. I did move the car a few ft forward and back once and awhile, but not nearly enough that I should have.

Anyone with a second gen know how easy it is to drain the tank? Unfortunately, the car isn't at my own house so I can't check. Just want to make sure I know when I'm getting into when I head over there to work on it.

Do you know how much gas is in it? I havent dealt with a sitting Honda, but my old Camaro sat for over 5 years, Got it running on the old gas and and added premium to it until I burnt it all out, then changed fuel filter and never had an issue

It shouldn't be much.

I guess I could change the fuel filter, and add premium along with some Heet.

Pull the plugs, squirt some light oil in to the cylinders and turn the engine over by hand before you you fire it up.

May want to take a second to check fluid levels across the board as well. Also, inspect the battery.
