New brake issue after installing new parts
Here's the deal on my daily driver bucket of rust, which someone was too lazy to do the work on so they just gave it to me... 89' Honda Civic 4d LX 1.5L(Front discs/Rear drums)
Brakes had no pressure and I had to press to the floor board to stop. Got a free brake inspection so I didn't have to play the guessing game and also not have to pay the shop $405 to replace the master cylinder, rear drums and to do a fluid flush. I replaced the master cylinder(which was leaking where it connected to the booster) and the brake booster(terribly rusty and looked like it was going to break apart into a pile of rusty dust at any moment). Bled the lines after that. Got a few miles down the road this morning and the brakes were sticking more and more until the car wouldn't move and I could barely press the brake pedal in. I had to release the pressure by loosening the bleeders just to get it back home. I could tell they were slowly getting worse on the way home with each press of the pedal due to the pedal movement decreasing and the car struggling to accelerate in any gear. Any ideas what would cause this?? Appreciate the help! Thanks

Re: New brake issue after installing new parts
When you installed everything did you disconnect the vacuum valve from the line from the intake to the booster. You might have installed it backwards. There should be a little arrow on it!

I removed the line from the booster when removing the old one and reconnected it when I was done so I don't think I could have put anything on backwards. I can double check everything when I get home today though just to make sure.

Re: New brake issue after installing new parts
When you get home I would remove the whole line and see if you can blow thru it both ways or just one way, That way you will know it is working. It should be only one way.

Re: New brake issue after installing new parts
Found the problem thanks to another user on this site who replied to my post in a different section of the forums. I forgot to adjust the push rod on the brake booster and because that was too far in it didn't properly relieve the pressure off the calipers when my foot was off the pedal. Thanks for the replies and help!
