RSX-S Bose sound system, volume goes down by itself
Haven't been on here in a minute, I bought a new car (2002 RSX-S) and just a few days ago it started having a problem with the Bose stereo. I was driving and the volume just seemed to fade away. I thought it was weird, but i turned it back up and then it just turned back down on its own. It goes at a moderate speed, it takes under 10 seconds to go from full volume to mute when i turn it back up. I can turn the radio off and back on and it will stay up for maybe a minute and then start turning itself down again. I tried this fix hoping it would work with no luck. http://www.carstereohelp.com/repairD...rselfAcura.htm
Any suggestions? I talked to a few techs at work (honda dealer) and they have no idea what could be causing it. My next option is to replace the head unit.

Not sure if the problem is in the HU or in the Bose amp as the HU is technically just the controller and source, the amp and X-overs are in the amp.
If you have access to a HU you can try before you buy one it will give you an idea of where the problem is. 94

Can you check the settings, I know many factory radio increase volume with speed, yours sounds like the opposite?
See if you have the setting where the volume increases with speed and for the hell of it turn it off, see if that does anything.
Also see if you have an auto mute button, I know on aftermarket stereos, I have a button that decreases volume instead of using the volume button.

Had this issue a couple of weeks ago. Bad amp under the passenger seat. Get a new head unit and bypass the amp. And swap out the old speakers. If on a budget. You can start with a headunit and work your way up.
