How to tell if Honda Vamos has remote locking?

How to tell if Honda Vamos has remote locking?
Hello,
We have bought a second hand 2011 Honda Vamos imported from Japan. It only came with one key, which does not have a remote locking fob.
Does anyone know how to tell if the vehicle was fitted with remote locking? If it was I can get the local Honda people to program a new key but they don't seem to know how to tell if it was originally fitted or not.
Given that is a 2011 I'd be surprised if it wasn't fitted but don't want to waste the money getting them to obtain a key if it isn't going to work!
Any ideas where I could look for and how to identify the rf receiver?
Cheers,
Tom

Usually the antenna is either located in one of the cars pillars(like front passenger A pillar) or alot of cars now have them built into the glass along with the radio antenna. Receivers/box can by typically found close to the ECU, or on either side of the steering column behind the dash panel closest to your knees.

Hi w8lifter21, thanks for your reply.
I've had a bit of a poke about and found this small silver metal box in the drivers footwell which I thought may be it, but I searched for the part number online and the results suggested it was something to do with the power steering, which I confirmed by disconnecting it.
Couldn't find anything that looked like it might be the ecu, just the socket that you could plug into.
I'm wondering if it was not fitted originally, I thought all cars of this age would have remote locking!
Cheers,
Tom

It's tough to say with it not being a vehicle we have in the USA. If you really want to dig, find a Vamos service manual and that will definitely tell you where it is located if equipped.

If only mate, its not a normal model here in the UK either, we imported it from Japan as it was ideal for our purposes, but there are downsides! Can't find a service manual for it on the internet either, they're probably all in Japanese anyway.

You could always have one installed aftermarket. Directed Electronics makes a great product and they have world wide distribution. I use them in almost every customer car we do.
