how to set up amp/sub for easy removal/replacement?
i have a pretty low end kenwood amplifier and a pair of eclipse 10s in a sealed box. it takes up about half of the trunk of my 91 integra. however, i'm also in a band and my gear takes up the ENTIRE cargo area of my teg with both seats flipped down (note: yes you can fit an ampeg 8x10 bass cab in a G2 integra), so i have to keep taking my subwoofer out.
does anyone make any kind of quick-connect device for the power and ground wires, or some kind of plate i can recess in the trunk panels and plug them into? it seems it would be easier to unhook these wires + the RCAs coming from my deck than to unhook all the speaker wire and leave the amp in the car. any suggestions? does anyone make a plate or cover (like they do for home audio when you wire a whole house) that i can build into one of my trunk panels and just plug the RCAs and power/ground wires into? that would be really clean looking and keep the wires hidden.
any suggestions would be hot, i'm gonna try to tackle this install tomorrow.

Well the amp you could just mount to the back of the seat or somewhere secure in the trunk that would be outta the way, then all you would have to do is unhook the speaker wires and pop the fuse on the power cable to unhook everything... that is what i do...
Or.... you could possibly make your own quick connect system.. might take some time... just put a male/female connectors on your power wire, groud wire, and remote line, then unhook the rca's... that would only really work if the amp was mounted to the sub-box...
I would just go with the first option... less haslte and the and it isn't hard to do.... pop a fuse and unhook wires..

Re: how to set up amp/sub for easy removal/replacement? (civic_speed99)
problem is, the speaker terminals on my sub are awkward and unscrewing them is fairly tedious...so i was leaning toward option 2, bolting the amp to the sub box itself and putting in some kind of male/female connectors.
i guess my question is, where can i get male/female connectors for 8ga power wire that can handle 200W, or male/female connectors for the remote line for that matter?

easiest solution:
bolt the amp to the box (which i HATE to see) and just take off the 12+, ground, rem+, and 2 rcas when you're ready to go.
that's if you wanna take EVERYTHING out.
best solution:
put the amp somewhere hidden and neat and just remove TWO speaker wires when you wanna take out the subs. in all fairness, how hard can it be to disconnect 2 wires?

if your plugs are funky on your box, leave them on there and put the quick connect a few inches before it, that way... amp still hidden and box wires will pop right out....
Oh and you can get those connectors usually at any radioshack
