What should be done to properly setup my shock sensor on my clifford alarm. Right now it goes off anytime a loud truck or loud system is around it. This obviously is no reason for my alarm to go off. How would I properly adjust the sensor so it only goes off when it should?

In other words, I obviously know I need to turn down the sensitivity. But what SHOULD set the alarm off and what SHOULDN'T. How can I test the alarm to make sure it is doing what it should be doing?

Adjust it using a solid point of impact, I use the "A" pillar. It should only go off when you give the a pillar a firm hit, a softer hit will give a "warn away" trigger, or multiple chirps. A impact/shock sensor is hard to get "perfect", it is a game of give and take, too sensitive and you get false alarms, this does not inspire confidence in your security system.

Also note sensitivity will fluctuate with temperature, it may need tweeking from time to time.

Okay, cool. Thanks. I just tweaked it quite a bit, hopefully that will work out for me. Does it matter what the shock sensor is mounted to? Also is the shock sensor the only sensor that will make the alarm "warn"? I want everything giving a full trigger rather than a warning. As long as the shock sensor is the only sensor doing that, I guess that would be fine.

The impact sensor has two zones, one adjustment. The warn away can be triggered many times without setting the alarm into full trigger mode, doors, etc. will be full trigger. If you notice the alarm falsing, the LED will tell you which sensor triggered the alarm (doors, hood/trunk, shock, etc), count the flashes of the LED after the alarm is disarmed, refer to the manual for table of "zone triggers", cool feature.
