FOSGATE AMP PROBLEM

Default FOSGATE AMP PROBLEM

hey guys i got a rockford fosgate 700s amp....the fuse that is connected with the battery terminal popped and i put new ones in and they popped also when i turn on the car....i went to a car audio shop they said the amp was short circuiting or something like that...is there any other thing that can be wrong or how can i check out the amp to see if its still good ?? thanks

You have already proven the amp is shot.
Repair it or replace it.

Sounds like a blown input to me As in DC input transistors.

thanks...do u guys know where or how much it would cost to fix and if its worth fixing ? im in the los angeles area...

Most shops run $100 or more. I moonlight fixing amps. What Part of LA? I usually can fix then for less then $75, but it depends on how much damage is done.

If you have some soldering skills fix it yourself. Amps are simple and parts shouldn't run more then $20 if that.

Take it apart and post some pics.
