disable internal amp on an Alpine

Default disable internal amp on an Alpine

I remember people posted one how to disable the internal amp on the alpine cd players. How do you do this?

I think if you are running sepaate amps you have to hold down the setup button until it takes you into the menu. Then you have to scroll over to the one tat is "PWRIC" i believe and turn it off. The shuts it off and turn signal to the pre-amp outs only. That is how it is on my alpine.

? am i missing something? do you get more voltage by switching to preamp only? i woulda just not wired the speakerlevel inputs and only used preamps. i never knew you could disable it though

You don't get more voltage, you just reduce the chance of catching noise.
