Default connect ipod to head unit via aux cable.

Here's my head unit:

Here's the back of it:

I have an auxilary option for the stereo. I don't know how to hook it up to my Ipod. I was planning on buying an aux cable to go from my ipod to the head unit. it works like that in my gf's scion. Would that work the same with mine? if so where the heck do i plug it into?

Stop prying dash panels with screwdrivers...

Anyways, you would buy an aux-input adapter for a Panasonic deck. Unless your GF's Scion has a Panasonic deck in it, the same cable won't work.

The iPod adapters at Crutchfield say that they're for 2006 and newer Panasonic decks, and the sticker on the bottom of your deck says 2004. So you're out of luck with that kind of iPod adapter.

But you could use a regular old aux-in adapter, although I couldn't find one that said it worked with decks older than 2006. Also, I'm unsure of whether or not the adapter would plug into the round CD changer port on the deck or if one of the sets of RCA's is an aux input. Since you didn't bother to tell us the model of the number of the deck, that's all I can tell you.

What do I use to pop the dash open? my flat head doesn't damage anything. I haven't gotten any damage to it yet. It just reshapes right after. Like memory foam or some ****.

I don't know much about my stereo. I think this is my model #CQ-C5310U

can u send me a link to an aux-input adapter?

I was going to tell you to do your own research, but since I'm home with a sick kid who's asleep right now, I've really got nothing better to do.

If you read your manual http://service.us.panasonic.co...U.PDF), or even looked at the little white sleeves on the RCA's on the back of the deck, you'd see that one of the sets of RCA's is an Aux-In.

In that case, you'll need a simple headphone-to-RCA adapter cable like this one:
http://edifier.ca/eshop/images/L221MM-2.jpg

One end plugs into the headphone jack on your iPod, and the other connects to the AUX-in RCA's on the back of the deck.

You will then press the "source" button until "AUX" shows on the screen.

You won't be able to control the iPod through the deck like a true iPod interface, but it's better than nothing.

i've been looking into how to do an input on the factory radio. I found an AUX RCA input on that site for like $14. Awesome, unfortunately I have to lose my factory CD changer.

You'll rarely catch a professional installer using a screwdriver to pry a panel out/off.

I personally use a nylon panel tool like the one on the far right: http://shoptoolsshoptools.com/shopexd.asp?id=24298

Or, in that particular car, you should be able to reach up in the cavity below the radio & push the whole assembly with your hand. No tools required.

ic. why would a flat head not be similar to the tool you just referenced. I've had no damages whatsoever. never tried sticking my hand behind it. maybe i'll try that next time.

I know that you can plug an iPod into the CleanSweeps, but jeez... TOTAL overkill for this guy's setup.

Why not buy an IPod ready CD deck and run the cable that comes with it through and out into the center console? That's what I did. My CD deck controls my ipod so I never have to mess with it, it just sits inside my console.

First, what decks come with the iPod interface cable? I don't know of any.

Second, why buy a $150+ deck when a $10 cable will do the job?

*sigh*...newbs

Okay You have been lucky. You can and WILL damage/destroy a dash panel with a metal tool...its only a matter of time. If you are going to work on your car use the right tools!! The price of the Nylon tools range from under $10 for a set (harbor frieght tools) to $40 for a pro set. The nylon tool allows for safe prying WITHOUT damaging or scratching the area your working on.

You have no idea how many 01-06 civics I see with pry marks on their dashes from installers who didn't know what they were doing.

Certainly doesn't help that the clips holding those particular bezels in are angry as all hell
