Default best bass for techno/trance, 12s?, 15s?

I have always had a decent stereo in my cars. Even custom built a $8k system for my old '94 Integra, so I do know quite a bit and have learned a lot through the years. Anyway, I have always used 12's because they seem like they are a good midway between 10s and 15s carrying a little characteristics of both. Also have always had/made sealed boxes. I mainly listen to trance, club type music and I just picked up a BS '96 $1k Maxima last week to use as DD until my XJ/stroker is finished. I will be selling my 300zx soon and willing to spend maybe $400-$500 on a stereo for the max which I can later remove and reuse. I am thinking of getting 15s. I found a pair of MA audio 15s on ebay for only $90 brand new (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=001). I've always used Kenwood and Alpine but believe MA audio is pretty decent too. I think 15s will hit nicely paired with an amp that will deliver 900 watts rms at 2 ohms, so about 450 per sub. Any comments on this sub size for this type of music as well as if I should venture into a ported box or anything?

ma audio is really nice stuff. The sound is going to depend on the enclosure used, amps that are suppling the power, the car itself. Find the specs on the sub and build a enclosure to the fq that you really want it to hit at. Sometimes its trial and error with a car. Me and my bro in law built 5 enclosures for a car once till we got the sound that the customer wanted.

thing is I'm not looking for the best system possible because I may only have the car for a few months, just the best bang for the buck. I had a Kenwood (and still have) a kenwood excelon kac-x810d mono sub amp that I've used for 3 years, very powerful and efficient and puts out 900x1 at 2 ohms, pretty decent with my 12's in the past. Could probably be had for about $150-$200 on ebay now. That and a $100 Mp3 deck and I'll be all set. Makes me realize how hard I got raped when I was 16 and naive and spent $2800 on a nice, but fairly basic setup. Now 6 years later and a lot more knowledgeable could build a pretty nasty system for a similar cost. Also wondering if the subs should face the trunk or pull the seat backs down and face forward
