Depends....what's the VC config on your subs? One can't recommend an amp if you dont know what ohm load it will be seeing....well they can, but it wouldn't be good advice..LOL

Ditto the above^^^.

A 1x1000W RMS amp is what you need, [1100-1200 watts would be better], the comp VR sub comes as a DVD 2 ohm or DVC 4 ohm, ideally you would have the DVC 4 ohm subs, wire VCs in series, [8 ohms] then wire subs in parallel for a 4 ohm load, use a 1x1000W RMS into 4 ohms amp if they are DVC 2 ohm subs, the best would be to wire VCs in series, [4 ohms] and then wire subs in series for an 8 ohm load and use a 1x1000W RMS into 8 ohm amp, [1x2000W RMS into 4 ohms] you can also wire the subs in parallel, [2 ohms] and use a 1x1000W RMS into 2 ohms amp, [1x500W RMS into 4 ohms]. 94

who wires **** into 8 ohms? almost all amps today are 1 ohm amps, and a lot are stable down the .25 ohms anymore. to the original thing, you only blow subs when you have a dirty signal (clipping)

I try to wire it to the highest ohm possible

Lower the ohm=more heat & noise

As mentioned, the lower the load the more heat, distortion out of amp, the higher the load the lower the heat and distortion and at 8 ohms the bass will be more linear, cleaner/accurate, it is also easier on the cars charging system and a lot easier on the amp.
As for cost of the amp, you get what you pay for. 94

you can also get an amp with a very regulated power supply that does the same wattage at 2,4 or 8 ohms. you better have deep pockets though. and it would be a waste on kicker subs. what is the exact model number so we know what direction to point you in.....
