Re: SoHonda Garage's Circuit DC5 Build
Updates!!
A couple of the homies came up from CT to spend the weekend and tough out the blizzard with us... Along with plenty of drifting in the CRV we got alot done on the race car.
Started the weekend with a fresh shipment from AutoFair Honda, thanks again to Colin and the guys at AF for excellent customer service as always and unbeatable pricing
.
.
Dre and I spent some time on the steering rack, getting it cleaned up masked and painted, then installed it with the powdercoated mounts, fresh hardware and return line. The wiper motor was also installed and the wiper sub harness was run... The bay is really starting to come together now!
Also pictured are some carbon block offs that Seamus did to cover the AC hole and cruise control cable hole in the firewall
.
.
Seamus and I also got the dash wiring pretty much complete and installed. The blower housing, heater housing, and dash bar are all in to stay
The harness is run slightly different than it was from the factory, but accessibility is improved. Its really pretty minimal under there with all the extra wiring and connectors removed
.
.
Another buddy of mine that has been helping with the build is Joe. Hes doing the bottom end refresh for us. Weve got the oil pan, windage tray, pickup/pump and rods/pistons removed. The pistons are going to get hot tanked next week, then a light hone job and new bearings will follow
.
.
Last but not least our parts shipment came with these little block offs so I popped them into the mirror switch panel for ***** and giggles. More work to be done tomorrow so stay tuned!

Excellent update needless to say. It's really coming along now and I'm happy to see everyone helping in one way or the other! Seamus did work in those CF block offs, looks good! That steering rack boot is looking a lil under spec though haha, I see dust!
