Default SMooTHn'z DB7 Build 1994 Acura Integra LS

THE STORY:
Since I was a young lad (34 yrs old now), Ive always wanted a 4door vehicle, as I got older my taste went from 4dr Civics to the 4dr Integra.

I never really had the time or $$$ to build me a nice DD, my first project car was a EH2 (92 Civic Hatchback) and it was definitely a budget build (ghetto rigged a alot of ****).

Ive done lots of research and I am hoping this build will be dont more better than my previous.

THE CAR:

At the beginning of the year 2013 I was on the hunt for a 4 door DD, I really wanted a OBD1 Integra Sedan but in my mind I didnt think I would find one totally stock so that I could make it my own. SO I started looking at 92-00 Civic Sedans it didnt matter what year between those years.

I was checking Craigslist HIGH n LOW. Then towards then end of April I decided to look up Integras in areas outside of my city and found a post that was 29 days old for a 1994 Automatic Integra Sedan.

Here are the pics the seller posted:

I sent him a text already expecting a "Sold" Reply or no reply at all.
A couple hours go by and I receive an reply saying "yes it is for $500". In my mind I was jumping up down like I hit the LOTTERY!

I made arrangements for the 2 hour trip the next day!

I had too many cars at my house to park this one there too so I gave a buddy of mine a sweet deal he couldnt refuse the old motor and transmission out of this project car and some medibles if I could bring this car and my other DC4 integra over to hisplace and do my swaps at his place. I knew he would agree cause he just picked up a 95 Del Sol with a D15b1 in it and he wanted more pep in his ride.

Now I have 3 kids at home a 3year old girl and 2year old Twin boys! And I am the law around my house and my wife cant handle all 3 of them by her lonesome so I have to wait till bedtime (anywhere between 8p-1030p) before I can even think about heading over to my buddy's place and tear this new bad girl up!

I started on the topside of the engine and disconnected everything to prepare for pulling this motor and transmission out. I decided to wait for daylight before getting under the car and disconnecting stuff down there.

After I did all I could topside of the engine I started to remove the dash and the Automatic brake & gas pedals to prep the car for the Auto to Manual conversion.

The next day I dropped the kids off at grandma's cause a broke ***** like me need money! Then I got to working on the bottomside of the engine so I could pull it out!

I didnt take pics of this removal cause I didnt have a engine balance and when I found something around the yard that was sufficent I just went with it!

After I got everything out I needed to bring my donor car for the swap. My brother in law had a boosted 1999 DC4 and let me have it cause I helped him do a lot of work on it. Started it up and had my buddy follow me to his place so I could start tearing it down.

After I finished topside of the engine Like I did with the other car I started taking out the dash and pulling the clutch, gas and brake pedals to swap them over to the automaticintegra and make that beast 5-speed!

Next day I had to trade in my old Craftsman breaker bar cause mine started getting a crooked head!

Now it was time to tear out the bottomside of the donor integra and get this bad boy outta there!!

Now that its out time to concentrate on the DD. Started to degrease the engine bay.

After removing the fenders and all the wiring from the engine bay so I can start tucking it all.

I start to clean the spots I missed when all the wiring was in there and my buddy said I should paint it, he had a full gallon of Raspberry Metal Flake. I looked at it and said well it will be hidden under the hood and I do want it to stand out when I do open it up for people to see, so I bought the gallon from him and started prepping the engine bay for paint.

I had to wait a few days cause my buddy's neighbor had a white Cadillac parked outside and we didnt want to ruin the white paint. But once the neighbor left he got busy.

So I started to put back the brake lines and stuff after I got to looking at it I told myself its not clean looking with hard lines so I started to look into brake line tucking. I almost went with a complete hardline setup until I came across RYwire and Chasebays Brake tuck kits. Took me a few days to find a guy on HTmarketplace selling Chasebays kit for $350 obo shipped.. SOLD!!

After I ordered the Brake line Eliminator kit I decided to move the DD to my place and setup shop to be with my kids more.

Here it is at home.. I wish I had some shade!

Went and bought a 10x10 canopy

It had and alarm system that I took out and started to remove the ugly doodoo Brown/Tan interior..

TO be COntinued!!
