Re: Mickeys (xtoplinex) Build Thread!!! AWESOME!!!
^^^Thanks guys. I LOVE the iBuilt brackets.
I haven't updated in a while... here's where I have left off.
2/2/09
O.k. So I decided that I wanted to remove the back seat for some SERIOUS cleaning...And I cleaned it up so much that I might just leave the backseat out.
So when the seats were removed I noticed it looked like pure ***. So I removed all the dirt and dust and started to spray the floor with 3M Undercoating.
I removed the fuel pump cover without having to remove any of the cables! (Notice the small incision...lol)
And this is how it came out after I painted it white.
And this is how the rest of the job came out. I'm really pleased with the results.

Well I got alittle bored and decided to cut the VC, so that the cams are exposed. Here's how it came out.
2/10/09
Bought some cusco blue, just cause.
2/14/09
Here's another update:
Brand new HKS cam gears.
I also took my old GSR VC to school today for some TLC. I shaved off the DOHC V-TEC logo, along with the honda motors co. with a DA using 80 grit sand paper, then I sand blasted the whole VC to remove the red paint, along with the factory wrinkle black, then after that I smoothed out the rest of the VC with 180 grit sandpaper. Now all I got to do is lay down some primer on this thing, then it'll be ready for some paint.
...And you pretty much know what color this VC is going to be in.

And here are some updates.
Well first, I installed the new (temporary)Hoses.
Then, I removed all the red washers, and replaced them with fresh SS washers.
After that, I removed my AEM fuel and went to town with it.
I dipped the Fuel rail in a bath of Grease Lightning to remove the anodization.
After the anodization bath, It left a weird coating on the whole Fuel rail, so I started to grind it off with the Dremel. (God I love this thing.)
Then, I wet sanded the whole rail with 400 grit wet-sand paper. Then finally I polished the Rail with an Aluminum mag metal polish...and here are the results...ohhh and I went ahead and installed the VC

The day I get my car back.
4/24/09
O.k.. The car is ALL DONE!!! RUNNING LIKE A CHAMP!! :bang:
So I got my car Wednesday night, and drove it back home (as soon as I pulled the car out of the shop I notice that is was very difficult to get into the gears.) But I just kept on drive til I got home.)
Thursday Mourning I woke up to go to the muffler shop because my car got ALOT louder.. So I decided to add ANOTHER 22" Magnaflow resonator. Sounds ALOT Better, and alot more quiet..but it sounds just right!
So as soon as I left the muffler shop, and entered the Highway, My tranny literally exploded...OMG it sounded terrible! I was shiting bricks!! I actually had to check my underwear to see if it was still intact. So I was stranded on the side of the highway until my hommie Miguel (Same name!) showed up. Then it was another mission to get the car on the flatbed..
So I towed my car to my mechanics shop, and he got to work right away! (OMG!! TONY IS THE ****!!!!!!!!!!!) He had told me to stop eatting ****, and go look for either a B16 Tranny, or a GSR tranny.. Later on that Thursday night, I found some guy selling a totally rebuilt Tranny for a somewhat decent price (The price didn't really matter at the time...) So I took the tranny home and decided to call it a day!
Friday Mourning, I went to autozone to buy some silver high temp. paint for the very dirty tranny (sorry, no pictures of the hideous thing) So I cleaned the tranny, and layed the silver on like noooo 2morrow! While the paint was drying on the tranny, I decided to pay a visit to my local Honda dealer, and Purchased 3 bottles of Tranny fluid, along with a very shiny, billet, Honda optional spark plug cover (I also bought this for an awesome price!)
So after everything was loaded up on the truck, I went straight to my mechanics shop. So the tranny is finally in, and it shifts like BUTTER!!!! Everything is good now. It's 1:20am right now, And I have yet to eat anything, nor cleaned anything.. I gonna eat some left over Chinese right now, Then, I'm gonna clean up the engine bay, and suspension components. After that, I'm gonna take a well deserved shower!!! lol Then pass out cause I'm gonna be leaving to HIN at 6am!!
I'm gonna leave you with these photos of the finish product!

So at the show I ended up winning Best JDM-OEM Runner UP, and 3rd Place Hottest Driven Vehicle 1999 & Below)

Some nicer pics of the bay.
5/4/09
Here's some minor detail updates..nothing serious.
I was looking at my vtec solenoid, and decided to clean it up a bit...
Before (ewwww...notice the zip ties):
Then what I did was, I grinded down the solenoid to bare metal...
So I left it bare metal for a few days... And I went to the Honda dealership to buy the Spark plug wire holder thingies....
...alot better then the zip ties IMO. I also painted the solenoid in silver.

Re: Mickeys (xtoplinex) Build Thread!!! AWESOME!!!
Here's what I've been up to yesterday, and today.
The hose from the fuel rail to the fuel filter was removed, in order to put in the new steel braided one.
BEFORE:
AFTER:
I also added a 90 degree elbow for the fuel pressure gauge. (That way the gauge faces towards the front.)
BEFORE:
AFTER:
Here's the overall look of the bay now (with the Spoon socks. ).. alittle more spicy.
Here's the new braaaaain!
And sorry for the crappy night pics! Here's where the air/fuel gauge is installed.

CTR look extremely clean, but I liked how your car was more unique with the purple pearl and blue seats. However, It's still pretty damn sexy how it sits now.
