More eye candy to look at, I'll get right into it. Big thanks to Matt @ HellaFab for putting the fab work together and doing a great job! He'll be doing the charge piping and full 3" V-band custom exhaust that we have slated in as well as tying up the loose ends.

Manifold is pretty much all done, minus final fitment on the Tial Wastegate to make sure the DP doesn't need adjustments for the slave cylinder.

Bored .05 for pistons, balanced, blueprint, deck, etc etc.
Block Guard/Girdle (Not sure what kind)
Arp Everything (Don't mind the random head bolt in the photo, even the ARP studs in the photo have been replaced due to missing washers, and one not being there.
ACL Bearings

Here is the head I picked up locally here. This head was run for a short amount of time on the old Concept on Wheels "race car" back in the day. The amount of manual labour that went into lightening everything in this head is bonkers. Full crower valve train, port + polish, 5 angle valve job, etc....

The head had aggressive Crower NA cams so I picked these up to have thrown in instead... Skunk2 Pro 1 + Skunk 2 Tuner Series gears.

Last but not least (for the time being) the mock up at the fab shop....looking sweet thus far!

Mmmmmmm yum.

DP will give me a significant amount more clearance than my old JUN headers.

That's about it for now. All I am waiting for is to pick up my Type R LSD trans from Toronto /w Quaife LSD asap and get the rest of the mocking/ finishing fab work done and get this beast started!

Okkkkk so as promised some more updates on newly aquired parts, and progress being made over at the HellaFab garage!

Any of my good friends know I have been looking for a place to NeoChrome a valve cover in Canada for a couple years....well I finally know why it was so hard to locate. There are only two places that do Neo Chroming apparently in all of North America, one of which being in Santa Monica California. I spoke with the people there and basically $550 and almost three months I could have this done :-(

Out of no where on my Facebook feed I saw someone post a b16 valve cover in California already bunged and shaved....just what I needed! Big thanks to Aaron and Jeremy for getting this thing to me from Cali. This valve cover at one point was on the Honda Tuning cover car, Jeremy Duarte's bright green real deal DB8!

that vc is pure sex meng! ive considered neo chroming a vc before too but was way too much to be spending on a vc imo. any day you're thinking of changing it, get it ready to ship to jamaica!

question tho... how do the pro1s perform with boost? i had always thought the tuner series skunk2 cams were the better recommended cam to use than the pro series. but i could be wrong.

Haha I will keep that in mind man! As for the S2P1 I was suggested grabbing them from a good buddy of mine who ran them in a set up previously and there happen to be a great deal on a very mildly used set at the time I was looking so I just pulled the trigger. I will be making sure to keep this thread updated as the car goes through the break in and tune process so stayed "tuned" (pun fully intended).

Had a buddy of mine who was headed to Toronto yesterday so I had him stop by Tek out of the kindness of his heart to pick up some of my parts from Eric. As per usual big thanks to Eric and his outstanding service at Teknotik....give him money meow!

Here's the small part's drop..

Picked up the BWR 4 port catch can kit for an amazing price from Eric, I wanted something a little more signifigant than the Cusco unit I had grabbed last season even though it worked great. This system will accomodate CC ventilation from the VC bungs as well as the direct ports from the back of the block as I removed the box.

Default Re: Emilio's 1999 Ek Hatch Build (LOTS of progress photos, always updating!)

So I have been waiting to be able to make this post a reality for a while now but the day is finally here! Had an amazing weekend visiting Toronto and seeing some amazing people and grabbing some sweet parts from Frank at Speedstar. I ordered these pieces way back at the end of January with no idea of if they would even make it on the container for April but what do you know, Frank and the guys at Speedstar worked they're magic and had BYS and Seeker on point with production of these two pieces. The rediculous thing with these parts when ordering from Japan is that for the most part due to the lack of interest in big doller legit aero like this they have tiny production runs and are pretty much made to order. Meaning only when my %50 deposit went through to Speedstar did Seeker and BYS start laying FRP and Carbon.

Anyways enough story book posts......here they are, big thanks again to Speedstar, I could not be happier and can't wait to send this thing to paint with all Aero ready to go. Stay tuned for test fit once the CTR wing I had to buy for the base comes in, lol FML buying wings to throw out wing and use base......

I'm assuming the following is a very regular sight in front of a shop of the caliber of Speedstar....

http://www.flickr.com/photos/twolitremedia/8690528392/http://www.flickr.com/photos/twolitremedia/8690528392/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/twolitremedia/, on Flickr

This thing looks nastyyyyyyy, and looks like they put it to work judging by the amount of Aero damage assumingly taken on by the track usage. Not sure wether any of these were customer or employee vehicles.

The car is officially back at my house and all the fab work is complete! I could not be happier with how it looks and I can only imagine it will function even better. BIG thanks to Matt, and TONS of photos coming up in the next couple days of test fit, motor pull, engine bay strip, and lots more before she leaves again for paint!

Car is finally back from fabrication and everything turned out A++. I could not be happier with the work provided by Matt at Hellfab and would suggest to anyone checking out his rates and service.

On to the fun stuff.....

Full bay shot of some of the new goodies in place including Skunk2 hoses, spoon cap, some of the fittings from the BWR catch can set up, and some other stuff.

Ok so as mentioned earlier, grabbed one of the missing pieces in the build today and I could not have grabbed a better deal. Originally I was planning to tune with Hondata S300, but for the price I got this brand spanking new AEM V2 Ems I could NOT say no. I literally cracked the factory sticker myself to plug in the ecu to a car and data log a bit to test. Everything fired up and worked like a charm so I handed over the cash.

God dammit it's been a stressful and long month since the last updated (or whenever it was).....I think it's about time I get back on this! Lot's of new parts in, lots of parts still coming (unfortunately) and just over two weeks to get this thing put together.

Here we go....

Test fitting cage

Still needs some cleaning, but cool looking cage IMO.

So after a week of pondering I decided to just buy a real CTR wing as the replica base just would not cut it for this beauty. Seeker V2 all put together and mounted on base.

Can't wait to put these things through their paces, loved my Type 2s and I can not see myself not loving these 2.5s with 12k/10k custom spring rate using Eibach springs. I think this series of suspension was one of FnFs best moves yet.

They still use the Type 2 collars and perches. Improved top hat, and the springs is the difference.

Tadaaa, the rough testfit of all the painted stuff minus a few things. Just wanted a glimpse before it was time to start the motor work. Spacing will all get worked out by final fitment.

9 coats of clear on the BYS bumper for extra protection. I love how this piece came out, got the painter to not tape the lip down to it's smallest final thickness as if I ever want to get this thing repaint it wont be a big deal to just mask the link a bit lower.

More to come soon! Huge thanks to Victor at OneWire who has been there every step of the way and everyone else who has lent a hand in this build at any point in time. The final list will be long of how many people I will have to thank for making this happen! More updates soon, things will start moving quickly now hopefully....

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Okkkkk, so forgot to upload these from a couple days ago. Victior @ OneWire come by and worked his magic on my tranny.... stock LSD out, minty Quaife Helical LSD in :-)

Here's my 4.4ITR trans.

Picked up a used set of 4 piston KVR Pythons the other day. They were painted red on top of this anodized red, then bronze on top of the red. I stripped them down to this anodized red and may just keep them as is. Looks pretty good, other then the edges on the one caliper. Also stripped my brake booster to be sent out for some powder coating as I am still on the fence about the whole booster delete even though I have already ordered the kit. We'll see what happened when it arrive, and I will decide then, can always go back to booster after.

So I have had this set of Skunk2 adjustable uppers for the front of my car for a while now given to me by a good friend of mine as part of a package deal (neilcivic) unfortunately I have always been too lazy to strip and repaint the horrible orange colour that they had been painted in previous to neil having them. They work great and instead of buying new ones I decided to just freshen these up.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/twolitremedia/9170912069/http://www.flickr.com/photos/twolitremedia/9170912069/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/twolitremedia/, on Flickr

That's as good as it needs to get, here they are after 4 coats of stripper and enoughhh elbow grease with a wire brush trying to scrape them clean as possible.Final product later...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/twolitremedia/9170908933/http://www.flickr.com/photos/twolitremedia/9170908933/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/twolitremedia/, on Flickr

We moved on to fitting the cage for it's final position so we can weld up the plates underneath the car and finish up the bolt in procedure. I went out to the metal supermarket and got some 1/4" plate steel cut into sections that are exactly 1" large in size all the way around then the cages feet post plates to ensure no tearing through of my floor .Since I want to keep my panels in as much as possible as I don't like the look of a fully stripped interior there was some dremmeling to be done...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/twolitremedia/9170907167/http://www.flickr.com/photos/twolitremedia/9170907167/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/twolitremedia/, on Flickr

As you can see the rear cage legs need to spread out about 6 inches each outwards in this photo which makes them go through the panel. The goal was to move them until the crossbar bolted up and everything was square.

Looks rough here but the plan is to nicely cut the speaker grills (as I am keeping speakers also). This will mostly be hidden.

The passenger side had some more extreme modifications to be made but we have a plan to clean this side up as well.

One of a few of the parts I have been waiting on are these Function 7 LCAs, the craftsmanship of these things is mind boggoling. HUGE thanks to Eric for being on point with shipping/part ordering for me in the past 5 months with this build! The box has my Skunk2 Pro Series adjustable trailing arms also sourced through Eric and Tek!

Sometimes Skunk2 stuff isn't all that spectacularely made, but I must say I am impressed with these pro series upper control arms compared to my old Jasma setup.

Fitment on these things were perfect. My old adjustable camber arms holes didn't even line up and they needed some strategic modification.

Doesn't show it well but ended up spraying the uppers in a simple metallic silver. This photo doesn't show it great but whatever, these are barely seen and they're not orange. Yay!

Not sure if I have even posted a shot of the bay since it came back from paint, but here it is with the Hasports just placed in there....waiting the Bolt Boyz treatment to get them in final position, as well as all my RyWire goods to finish up the bay prep to have the heart dropped in. Once My boltboyz/rywire stuff comes in then it's all engine bay time.

Alright so we got ancy and a little loopy after 10 hours in the garage today so we needed to see a nice "teaser" look at the progress thus far with re-assembly. Lots of people asking about what wheels I was putting on this thing and they haven't changed. Going to rock my custom coated RPF1s (+35) with the fresh RE11s, and then look for my dream wheel next season as I am tired of looking this year and I still love these. Still lots to do but god dammit does it feel goo to sit back and look at it at this point. Once the rest of the parts come in then it gets crazy..... Thanks for looking people!

P.S. As per usual this car wouldn't be anywhere without the help of Victor and a couple other people, I'm hugely grateful to have awesome people around me to help me build this dream machine with me.

I haven't seen this build until now but damn, it's nice to see another Canadian doing this country well and building a well put together car! Keep up the quality work. I know what it's like building a car and how hard it is to stay motivated! I've been building a k-swapped EF for about 7 years now. And I think this is the year I finally get to "finish" it and take her for a spin!!

Intake Mani was removed for two reasons....less risk of scratching bay putting motor in, and the second you will see in about 30 seconds :-) Pictured here you can see the RyWire tuck harness all bundled up behind the motor ready for drop.

Don't scratch me please!! As you can see here in the photo, brake tuck is complete as well as booster delete! Looks so fresh n so clean clean.

Still needs to be cleaned up a bit and the prop fixed down but here is some of the tuck inside the cabin that will be under carpet for the most part.

The fitment on the kit could not have been better in the wheel wells from the bulk head fitting on the fire wall. The new flex lines bolted right to my current braided OEM setup.

So I was torn on what colour/finish to go with on my Edelbrock VictorX as the mani had seen better days. After much deliberation I chose to do it in crinkle black. I have never been a fan of crinkle VC jobs, but this I was hoping would turn out nice and unique, and I am pretty damn happy with the results!.

Here is the mani as it sat after I took the wire wheel too it and almost ruined it by grooving the **** out of the cast aluminum.

The guy who assembled my motor did a fantastic job on the conicle port...

Didn't bother wire wheeling the back, but it needs a good clean!

Tried out some new foaming heavy degreaser to prep the mani and I was really happy. It was much easier to keep the degreaser to the areas I wanted with this stuff, the mani cleaned up well.

So anyone who has used wrinkle paint knows that awkward feeling when you are done spraying the coat and are just hoping to all hell that the paint doesn't stay he gloss black that it currently resembles.

This was after the 4th (i put an extra as they only recommend 3) coat was placed on. You have to lay this stuff on THICK as possible basically just to the point of running. Then allow to cook in the sun for 24-48 hours. There are methods using heat guns and ovens that you can use to speed up the process but apparently it effects the actual texture and I liked the DIYs that I saw that just sun baked.

Here is the manifold today after a night of drying! Going to put her back outside to bake the rest of the day then re-install the manifold and put the TB back on! I took a risk and could not be happier with how it turned out. Ill take some shots after I razor blade the words and polish them :-)

As always Eric is on point with his service with overnight parts from Teknotik! <3 you guys.

Realized my stock end links just weren't cutting it so I talked to Eric and he suggested these Blox adjustable. Duely noted that with regular wear and tear these things need sometimes yearly replacement....fortunately I don't drive this car every day by a long shot and never in questionable weather so they should last. Bolted them on and forgot to take a photo of them but I love the fitment and construction on them, they don't feel cheap and flimsy as I would have expected from something like an endlink.

Ok so after a nice long bake this is the final product of my labor! Half assed the "polishing" of the letters for now, will continue later. I am considering hand painting them white with some sort of high heat though to match the bay and pull in the accent colour. Let me know what you think to polish or not to polish....

Noticed my IACV looked like total **** so I cleaned it up with some sand paper, prepped, and sprayed it silver!

Forgot to take an after photo of it off, but you can somewhat see it here....

I must say it is nice and all to buy new shiny parts, but there's nothing quite like DIY and being happy with the end result!

More to come soon as we near the start up date on this bitch....

Believe it or not I did it the sun bake method! So the day I painted it, unfortunately it was raining. I left it untouched in the garage over night and left it for 24 hours. The next day it was still kind of crappy out but I had periods of sun. Put it out for about 2 or 3 hours of decent heat and then began to knife blade the letters.

I was skeptical about the three DIYs I followed but after doing it they were perfect. I will surely be repeating this on some other pieces at some point maybe even on my RSX daily.
