Re: Back at it again with an EK hatch build
Not much of an update but I was able to powdercoat my valve cover a "silver artery" while I waited for the new gasket to come in
My Tier1 complete clutch ss cable came in. I accidentally touch the factory line with the starters power cable and blew a hole in it lol

Might start removing the interior and posting for sale locally first. But if anyone in the VA area is interested let me know. Plan on keeping the dash, front seats, shifter console and step panels for now

Re: Back at it again with an EK hatch build
Gonna call a bluff on this whole thread. Sorry, I'm an OG builder, been at this a long time.
Here's 2 quick reasons why:
1. We'll, there's no way someone with a Corvette and a GTR of the quality pictured (or, just period) would have enough ignorance to take on this project. Someone with an IQ and checkbook of that nature would not buy a Civic with rusted out rear quarters. They would wait for a clean chassis, as plenty are out there in the US. Even if they lived in a hard-winter state, they would surely know the cost of time and money to cut/weld/smooth-in the new rear quarters would far outweigh the costs to ship a rust-free chassis in from a dry state.
2. First mod was an Ebay shift boot...not even an OEM ITR boot....on a gray center console...with multiple pictures of it, as if we needed an illustration of ricer-boy mods?
Things just aren't lining up with past builds versus present choices. And if they are, this build AND thread are off to an odd start...
One fact that this could legitimately be the same owner of all cars presented is the graphics on the rear of the GTR, referring to "the nudes". You know, children ride on the roads as well? I'd be super-pissed trying to explain your decal to my children while waiting behind you at a stop light. And you daily this thing? That's not cool, that's distasteful, and rude to make other pedestrians and their young ones endure such explicit language.

Re: Back at it again with an EK hatch build
Sorry for lack of update but works been keeping me busy. Here's some small stuff
ended up wrinkle coating the ugly brackets
Finally had time to install the Tier3 one piece clutch line
installed the valve cover
The shifter was too low for me so got this shifter extender to help
mugen style lip came in to cover the cracked front bumper. Really happy with the fitment for a $30 lip.
The before (notice the cracks on bottom right)
THE AFTER!.. NO MORE CRACKS
The rest of damages on the bumper will be repaired once painted

I didn't use the Tier3 but when I converted to a Russel SS line with AN fittings, it was just to clean up the engine bay. It gave me the luxury of laying it any way I really wanted to. I never noticed a huge pedal feel difference since I changed the old fluid and had a new clutch put in all at the same time, but I imagine there's a small difference in pedal feel with just the line changed.

Having trouble believing this whole situation. By the looks of the quality and craftsmanship of your "other toys" I would think the first thing you would do is strip the car down and pull the single cam since you are building a drag car. I am all for someone resurecting a car that needs a lot of work but when your trying to pass off that you own and built these other cars and your first two things you do to your new "drag car project" is buy an eBay shift boot and 20 dollar front lip. Come on man. You have to see how this could be hard to beleive right?

Which is why I asked about engine/drivetrain plans.... painting d series valve cover seems to be a waste of time considering it will be pulled out, but not jumping to conclusions... not sure what the timeline is on the build.... I have a tendency to get in a hurry. Maybe OP doesn't and just wants to make it a clean dd at first.

Nah, dude.... I'm with OG Wagon on this one. OP is sketch. If I had the funds to own a GT-R and such a gnarly Vette, no way would my EK build start off as low rent as this.
This bish should be on a rotisserie getting sandblasted, with new OEM parts littering the garage, k-swap in the driveway, Volk wheels in box being used as a table, etc...etc...

Re: Back at it again with an EK hatch build
This guy may seem sketchy cause of him owning a GTR and a Corvette, but maybe he just has a passion for working on cars. ****, if I was a millionaire.... Believe it or not it, i would still have the desire to build a Honda. And if I was building a drag car. I would for sure not buy brand new OEM parts just to cut it up again for weight deduction. I work in a body shop and have seen cars get cut in half and put back on the street like nothing ever happened.
He could be lying to us for ***** and giggles. Let's just wait and see where the build goes first.
