99blackcivicsi's 2003 ap1 fix up/daily summer driver
So! the time has come for me to finally make one of these i always wanted to do so but normally when i throw a car together its way too quick and i can't bother with taking pictures but this time....i'm actually taking pictures.
So anyways i picked the car up and knew about these things...top has a hole in it on the right side, the passenger regulator has taken a dump, owner before the last one has had bondo on the left rear 1/4 panel and it has cracked, so i go pick the car up drive it home before i get in the car notice the brakes are metal to metal in the rear, one tire is bald as hell, timing chain tensioner rattle, all in all not bad for the money i paid for the car stupid crackhead deal on it.
i drove it home then to the shop the next day, I've been a tech for quite some time and the owner has been gracious enough to let me store the car in a bay so i dont' have it cluttered up in my already cluttered garage which i'm eternally greatful for so for now what i have planned is just simple... this is what came on the car mod wise....=/
d2 lowering springs
arc magic cooling plate that previous owner boogered up from heating it to make it "cool"
invidia dual exhaust
volk sf challenge 18's
aem cold air intake
clear headlight diffusers
mugen 3 piece spoiler
very loud sound system
this car had sat for two years almost and not driven but started everyweek warmed up and idled for a while
onto some pictures
day i picked it up (don't let the picture fool you the car is very photogenic
at the shop in front of my box where it stays i have 2 other bays so its no worries if i get really busy i just push it into the hole where i am standing
i neglected to take a photo of the trunk that was all speaker box but heres the wiring i pulled out of the car
clean trunk now not worried about interior for the time being
dyanamat was everywhere in the car from the stereo all over the inside of both doors in the trunk i removed all of it and was left with nice bare doors i can put the factory plastic back over
cleaned up interior fixed the cupholder so it actually closes now and the maplights
christmas in june
new console cr radio cover and carbon wrapped the panel in between the roof and hazard switch didn't come out too shabby
after a little work oh yeah btw new wheels found a local who traded these works for my volks which i hated these look a lot better on the car IMO to each their own
obviously ap2 front bumper and ap2 optional lip with wheels and new tires
Well thats how it sits at the moment up on my lift at work obviously i havn't taken pictures of everything i have done BUT i do have a small list in case your wondering
Oil change w/ honda oil and filter
new TCT
bg syncroshift trans fluid w/ mgs concentrate
bg ultraguard rear end fluid w/ LSII concentrate additive
New oem spark plug cover
redid the headlights
ap2 front bumper w/ plate blockoff
ap2 optional front lip
cr radio cover
carbon wrapped the trim in between the hazard and roof switch
oem pads
brembo blank rotors
work emotion cr kai in blue
cleaned the hell out of the engine bay
removed all the stereo and wires
window motor installed
oem black chrome rear emblem
valve adjustment and check the keepers and retainers
installed new a/c compressor
cleaned IAC valve
taken dash apart and cleaned behind it
next week my Tint guy should be out to tint the windsheild side and rear windows, my other buddy should be out to patch the top, i'm dropping off the valve cover and intake for powdercoating and the car goes to the bodyshop next weekend from what i can tell thus far as long as he keeps on track with the current stuff he is doing i flatbed it over there next week, i'm sure you noticed that from the yellow marker cirling all the small dings i want taken care of, the mugen wing will be re done as well the person who painted it sanded it wrong and you can see TONS of marks from finger indentions
all in all not bad i'll keep this updated with progress as i go along this isn't some crazy build just want a NICE summer daily with the top down and when i park it for the winter i may then do something crazy but for now just a nice low and loud s2000 is going to do it for me

Re: 99blackcivicsi's 2003 ap1 fix up/daily summer driver
updates this week have been slow i bruised my tailbone on tuesday and by the time i'm done with work i don't even want to look at another car haha, but i got the brakes done and painted new fluid and all changed the clutch fluid, and today my top got patched temporarily while i decide what i'm going to do either new top or gut it for a hard top and tonneau cover i'll make that choice over the winter.
i don't have any pics at the moment well at least i havn't loaded any up but fenders are being rolled tomorrow by a local guy who does all of them around here just about, and monday the car gets towed to my body guy and painter so expect updates to be slow then too because they are kind of lazy and are fairly busy and hook up price stuff comes in at the bottom of priority. I'll load some pictures up tomorrow but for now i'm so beat tired and my tailbone hurts so i'm going to bed

Re: 99blackcivicsi's 2003 ap1 fix up/daily summer driver
Alright well its been a long couple of months but i got it running aligned and shiny running well everything is fixed it dosn't look like the same car anymore or feel like the same car anymore so many things done so many people to thank for the help with services from tint, to paint, to powdercoating, fender rolling, trade's from locals, etc i'm in love with this thing i have owned many built cars from supercharged to nitrous and turbo ranging from 200-800 hp and this is the MOST fun i have ever had in a car i can't wait to turbo this thing it will only get better!
suspension on
back on the ground mostly back together
ride hieght in front and notice the nice tinted windshield
on the alignment rack right before i adjusted it
top view
walking to the car before driving it home for the first time parked in my bay
more updates to come later in the year right now i'm enjoying it being driven its so fun and i love the convertible!
