Re: 97 Ek 4door Build
So the strut bar unfortunately doesnt fit. Its short by about half an inch. I got it from a da9 at the junk yard for 5 bucks it was worth a shot i guess. I picked up a new intake manifold because the y8 i had previously was automatic. Also got some headers and gsr cloth seats. Ill post some pics tomorrow during the day.

Same thing with the strut happened to me with the strut. Paid 2 dollars and thought it would fit.
I definitely will be getting seats - good pickup there. I want some DA cloths....

Yea man sometimes you just gotta be patient and wait for the parts to come to you. I coulda easily paid 80-100 bucks for seats. But the guy i bought them from just crashed his ek hatch so he was parting out everything. You'll find some for cheap if you look in the right places.

Re: 97 Ek 4door Build
Dropped the motor yesterday. Spent most of today cleaning up the bay. Removed the ac lines, power steering, etc etc. i traded the single cam for a gsr long block. Still workin on getting the rest of parts for the gsr swap all in due time.

Re: 97 Ek 4door Build
I traded my single cam swap for a b16 head and a b17 block (92 gsr) the block is bare minus the alternator And oil pan so i will be selling it. If anyone interested let me know. Im gonna use the b16 head on a ls block .
Also what do you guys recommend for a transmission.
Also one more question, would i be able to use the harness that was already in my car? Or would i have to purchase a whole new one. I really hope theres a way i can use my old one.

Re: 97 Ek 4door Build
My buddy has LS swap b16 trans hatch. Acceleration is awesome - 5th gear awful...it doesnt bother me anymore but not my cup of joe.
I have LS hydro LSD trans and its great to me. Gears are a bit long but if you're considering forced induction at any point it will be a good move.
My vote is for the LS block as well....loving the progress...keep going(its bout to get cold as hell though).
All I have left is catch can, door speakers, and HID's wired and I'm on the road....
It's going to be COLLLLLD next week or so I am on pause unless parts go on crazy sale or fall in my lap.
