Want to get 180WHP+ with Stock Block B16A2
I've been searching around all day and I must say that I am very excited to see readings about 180-190WHP out of a B16 with a stock bottom end!! This all started when I heard about "Omniman" and this 200WHP b16 and I decided to see exactly what was needed... The I began to see more common about 175+WHP out of setups with a stock bottom ends...
I have not really gotten to a solid "parts list" but it seems that really you just need a built head to some degree and great tuning. Is this really hard to obtain? because I never wanted to do anything related to the bottom end and this would be a great number for me personally. Any advisement and direction from people who have accomplished this would be great knowledge!!
*Edit*
Currently
GSR head with Valves/Springs/Retainers/Bronze Valveguides
B16a2 Stock Block
Performer X Intake Manifold
2.5 Exhaust into a Greddy Evo 2 (No cat or resonator)

I'm not looking to do a full GSR... I understand people "HATE" B16s and such.. but thats what I have and I'm just looking to enjoy it....

i guess with stock compression it will be a pain in the *** to achieve your goals.
because youre pretty limited with the cam choice when running stock compression.
before i have built my current all motor b16 i was driving a stock b16 with IHE and a hondata s300 tune, this set up was about 169whp.
Custom 3" intake , SPoolin TODA rep header , decat pipe and a 2.25" Tanabe Catback Exhaust system.
it took me a while to tune it to a 169 but i did it.
if you really want more than you have to build your block or go for more displacement like b18 or b20 vtec build.
which also has a lot more torque.

I understand what you're saying but you'll spend less and make more power with a bigger engine. A friend of mine had a GSR with a fully built head and skunk2 stage 2 cams made 205whp with a completely stock jdm GSR bottom end.

Looking at the thought of trying to find a GSR block plus install cost will cost me about 6-700 I'd guess.. with those same funds I can buy cams and finish the head I have and dyno tune is... I'm not trying to pull this thing out again..

Sorry OP I dont think you are going to get near 180WHP on a stock bottom end B16. With some CTR or ITR pistons and Blox B or S2P2 cams good 3 inch intake header and 2.5 inch cat back you will reach your goals. Doing a bunch of head work and running larger cams will not do much if your motor does not have the compression to support the high flowing head.

I appreciate your input.. I'm just looking for direction... I just did some simple searches on here and it seems that is at least said to be possible in several occasions.. I will be sure to let you know where I am base... and then what is needed or suggested..
All my reading is just saying a built head with good cams... the right headers... and then a good tune and it is possible... but we shall see!

I dont know what dyno omni man used, but no way in hell he made 200whp out of a stock b16, not even with a huge fan next to it lol.
I did a baseline dyno on a b16 with full bolt ons, skunk 2 stage 1 cams and it made 121whp and 98wtq. If you would like i can provide dyno sheet.
On my mustang dyno, you are lucky if you break 150whp with stock b16. on a dynapack with std correction value maybe lol
Remember that all dynos read differently. Dyno numbers are just that, dyno numbers. b20vtecs stock rarely break the 170 barrier.

169whp on a stock B16 with just IEH no way I need to see dyno sheets. My LS Vtec with stock bottom end and stock B16 head made 161whp 125lbft and a B18 is bigger than B16 and will make more power, that around 190-195hp Type R power. My LS Vtec is very healthy too 2.5" CAI w/ AEM dry flow, 4-2-1 header, 2.5 inch cat back with stock cat, S100 tuned. You would need a killer header and a tune to get that power out of a B16.

You can find all the information on the b16 here ; https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/intertunetv-questions-about-omnis-200whp-b16-dvd-post-them-here-1338941/
Dynamic Stage As were the cams that put him over 200whp, but i dont even think they are around anymore.

it sounds like your just really trying to get the most outa your stock b16 block. rather than actually shooting for a power goal. so let it breath with good I/H/E do the performerX IM portmatch everything. mill the head and get smaller head gasket and cam the hell outa it.
if your happy with a b16 then you will be happy with the build for sure. good luck!

I'm on the hunt for which cam is going to be the right one to do. I'm really not trying to spend 600 for new Skunk2 BUT the Pro 1s are on my mind.. so I might look for a used pair... Or possibly some BLOX or CTR/ITRs.. really anything over the stock GSRs....

Re: Want to get 180WHP+ with Stock Block B16A2
Could anyone give any suggestions for cams for my goals? Im probably going to be looking for used cams but I'm still going to try and get something most effective.... Im thinkin about Skunk 2 Pro 1s... I'm looking for a very aggressive vtec crossover...
