Summer Project: DIY 954RR ITB B18C1
Well Summer is here now and I hadnt picked up a project yet so I figured it was about time to find one. I just got a Stock 95 GSR that i havent really figured out what I want to do with yet so it was kind of a tough decision, I currently a college student paying all my bills so I had to keep it VERY low budget. I started looking for a deal on ebay when i found a set of '03 954rr ITBs.
So i decided to take em. I figure it will be a fun build that not all that many people try. I have been doing alot of reading and realize that alot of ppl end up hurting power so i thought a real good thread including theory and opinions of some guys that have built DIY setups was in order. So please, if you know of any sites with good ITB theory info (doesnt have to be honda specific) or informative threads, or you just have an idea POST UP. Lets try to keep the BS minimal I would like this to be something sticky worthy (Does AM not have a FAQ thread???)
I will be keeping this thread updated with my progress as well.
Cost:
'03 CBR954RR ITB's $40.50
'03 CBR954RR Air Stacks $44.00
OEM GSR Mani $?
Al Tubing $?
Vacuum Manifold $?
Gasket $?
....
...
..
.
Stripped ITBs (forgot to take pic before i stripped them)
Has anyone used the itbs that had the secondary butterflies? I am going to plug these holes although i havent decided which way i will do it.

Re: (rushi)
That would make things interesting... here is the only picture i have of the full assembly.
All the electronics appear to be made by Mikuni if that helps?

Honda ITBs are made by Keihin. That last pic you dornon13 posted is 954RR ITBs. I've '04 with those same bluish green 12-hole injectors.
BTW I measured those injectors, they flow 320cc/min with stock 954RR fpr and Civic DPFI pump.
What size are your butterflies? Mine are 42mm, and throttlebodies taper into 41mm at exit. Intake side ID is 45mm.
