Default Quick Question...PR3 pistons I won on Ebay, good deal?

Ok so I'm building my first engine. It's going to be a B17A1 block B18C1 head and I wanted to use some ITR pistons (used C-Speed comp calc) so I bid on this auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1. It was for a brand new set of "Acura Type R pistons" and I set my max bid at $135.00. Well last night before the auction was ove I decied to check exactly what type of pistons these were.

As you can see from this pic:

the part number on the side of the box for the piston is 13020-p30-g00. I checked C-Speeds web-site http://www.itrca.com/FAQ/general/engineparts.php and noticed that these were .25 mm OS JDM B16A psitons? Anyway I was cool with that, because if I won I'd only be paying $135.00 for 4 brand new pistons, rings, and wrist pins (still a good deal) so I was cool with it.

I emailed the guy today and asked him what number was stamped on the top of the piston and he replied "pr3" . That's a USDM B16 piston right?

Here's the pic of the piston he had in the auction

Did I get ripped off due to false advertisement? Was this a good deal? With the setup I mentioned earlier in this thread will this be a decent engine, or am I going to be wasting my time?

Please give your opinions on the situation. Like I said before this is my first time to build an engine and purchase internals.

Thanks
SirRevvs

I guess maybe soemone can answer this for me a little easier, what number does an ITR piston have stamped on top? I have to send payment for this guy today, and I want to know if I should deny payment becasue he had his discription wrong.

Would the pistons have p30 or pr3 stamped on them if they were Del Sol pistons? But yeah the rings are just rings I'm pretty sure unless your getting some kind of overbore all B-Series rings should be the smae right?

So should I pay this guy or report it to Ebay if he gives me ****? Is it a decent deal? I'm looking to build a mildly Hi Comp. engine that will run off premium pump gas, and still make some decent power

first off, his auction was for itr pistons correct? so if you were planning on bidding on itr pistons(p73) and he's telling you they are stamped pr3, i say forget him. he probably cut and paste the pics........ good luck bro

Thanks guys, yeah I thought that was pretty fucked up myself. He replied to an email I sent him "ohh, well I guess the dealer gave me the wrong ones" I haven't paid for the pistons yet so I might just tell him to **** off. If he tries to start **** EBAY should be on my side correct?

no, dont pay him....pr3 pistons have a smaller dome than p30's...just go with some P30 pistons from JHPusa or wherever else...If you go with type R pistons you will have to machine the sides of the small end anyways to fit your rods=more money and down time..stick with original p30's 95 delsol pistons..

and yes ebay will be on your side, thats false advertisement on his part

I went ahead and paid for them . I'm getting 4 PR3 pistons, 4 wrist pins, and 4 sets of rings all brand new for 135 shipped. and according to C-Speed comp. calc. that's about 11:1 which is what I'm looking for because it's going to be a DD and I want to be able to use pump gas. Brand new set of rings alone (with shop discount) from Honda is $100 so it's actually a decnet deal. I'm on a budget and can't afford to spend $500 on pistons. But thanks for all your replies.

On another note I've been looking at KMS and REV valvetrain components, anyone have any good/bad experiences with either one of these products?

Link? What happened?

I know there's a guy here on H-T who deals REV components and he said a full package for B-Series (valves, retainers, springs) shipped for $485. Sounds pretty good I'm just familiar with any of these brands. This is my first build.
