Default question for non vtec crower cam users

Have any of you ever experienced a major discrepancy between what crower lists on their website vs what you actually get on the cam card? I received my 403's today and realized these are not even close to the specs that crower initially gave on their website.

their website lists...

Part Number/Work Order Number 62403
Engine Application ACURA 1.8 LS/RS
Grind Number 238-237 DOHC
ADVERTISED CAMSHAFT SPECIFICATIONS:

INTAKE: Duration: 238º Lift: .425 Clearance Hot: .006
EXHAUST: Duration: 237º Lift: .413 Clearance Hot: .008

The specifications listed above are based on a rocker arm ratio of 1.75 IN
1.75 EX

RECOMMENDED VALVE SPRING INFORMATION:
Part # 68181 Single Dual X Triple
Approximate spring pressure: valve closed: 060/070 LBS.
valve open: 155/165 LBS.

INTAKE Opens: -2.0 ATDC
Closes: 31.0 ABDC
EXHAUST Opens: 39.0 BBDC
Closes: -10.0 BTDC

LOBE SEPERATION 110º

Duration at .050" Intake: 209º
Exhaust: 209º
LOBE LIFT Intake: .243
Exhaust: .236

4 degrees of advance have been ground into this Camshaft.

If using "Lobe Center" method of degreeing, cam should be installed on an intake centerline of: 106º

and on my cam card i have

Part Number/Work Order Number 62403-2

ADVERTISED CAMSHAFT SPECIFICATIONS:

INTAKE: Duration: 295º Lift: .422 Clearance Hot: .006
EXHAUST: Duration: 295º Lift: .411 Clearance Hot: .008

The specifications listed above are based on a rocker arm ratio of 1.75 IN
1.75 EX

RECOMMENDED VALVE SPRING INFORMATION:
Part # 68181 Single Dual X Triple
Approximate spring pressure: valve closed: 060/070 LBS.
valve open: 155/165 LBS.

INTAKE Opens: 5.5 ATDC
Closes: 35.5 ABDC
EXHAUST Opens: 43.0 BBDC
Closes: -3.0 BTDC

LOBE SEPERATION 109º

Duration at .050" Intake: 221º
Exhaust: 220º
LOBE LIFT Intake: .241
Exhaust: .235

If using "Lobe Center" method of degreeing, cam should be installed on an intake centerline of: 105º

That is a HUGE difference in duration compared to the website. Not sure what to make of this. Didnt have this problem with the 402T's.

Expect some various in specs in mass produced camshafts, typically some is fine, but thats a huge gap, 60+ degrees.. ya buddy..

LS cams are super easy to dial on the dyno, I know that's not what you want to hear....

I've had the cams and never tried to degree them, just tuned them off the fuel map. Might be a lot harder on an automatic.

the tuning isnt the part that concerns me, its how much different of a cam did i get compared to the mild mannered wider LSA cam that i thought i was getting. The original intent here was to get something that was a little beefier then stock but still maintain some what of a mild cam. Now i got this beefy all motor cam that's damn near as big as the original 404 grinds. How will this effect the performance down the road if I decide to go turbo (even though I know I can still work the cam gears, the general idea is not to have to worry about that too much with a more mild cam).

found an old thread on the matter

http://www.team-integra.net/forum/14...62403-2-a.html

apparently someone contacted crower about it and got this response...

They were made on a stronger core, there isn't much of a difference in the power band because the specs are quite similiar. They are new profiles with higher acceleration ramps which make for better throttle response. If you have any questions please call 619-690-7806. Thank you for your interest in crower.

I've run them NA and supercharged they worked fantastic.
They are pretty mild, idle is like stock didn't miss anything down low.

the sims i ran on the two seem to only show this losing a little bit of torque below 3000 and gaining a little more above 7000, but im curious what the actual updates to the profile were for myself so im talking to crower now lol
