px or king motorsports px
1998 integra gsr(b18c1) 121xxx currently only have rmf header & testpipe with ws2 catback and ice box intake.
power goal for 2014 180-200whp with a/c & ps
as listed below only part left that i can think of now is a manifold. is it worth getting the king px or is the px alone good enough for the job?the 500 difference can be put toward my tuning fee or pay for manifold and tb. long term i can always send in the manifold and get it modify but should i just knock it out and do it now. since this is a street car only i don't know if a modify px will do me any good for DD. im mainly looking for a all around performance part for DD if that make any sense. if it matter... later down the road if my car didn't get stolen or crash it yet, im am planning to do some machine work n piston but still got a lot of reading to do before i decide
Part already have but haven't install
-rdx injector
-255 fuel pump
-s300
-s2 stage 1 cams(soon to be order with cam gears)
-supertech valve train

Re: px or king motorsports px
I've always been curious why we don't see more of a standard length, ported Performer X. The casting is ridiculously rough and if you needed more air, why not increase runner volume without changing length?

Compression is stock at the time being but looking to up the compression next income tax. I am considering a full head and vavle job before I install the cam but haven't decide yet. But back on topic I do agree I can spend money on head work but wouldn't, the stock manifold hold me back?
@flewbyu that a good point im look into that. Maybe compression has a play in that

Re: px or king motorsports px
Dont bother with skunk stage 1.. they are a waste of time.
the standard PX and pro2's always make good power and torque.. The px is good for probably 225-230 before it really needs porting. It'll always make more power ported but there are other places to spend the $$ in the mean time. Pro2's will give you room to grow on the setup and not have to worry about changing cams.

Re: px or king motorsports px
IMO if he wants to up the compression in the next year or so he should just build another short block on the side. It would give him MANY more options and he can pick a set of cams to build the block to. My personal preference? a B20 to go with the Pro 2's. Depends on his power goals and aspirations with his car though.

I also agree with goin pro 2 which was my first option but my tuner recommend pro1 for my goal which is 180-200whp n dd (7 day a week) because pro 2 but to much stress on my vavle train for daily driving. I might need another chat with my tuner.
Sleeper read my mind. I have been looking into the b20 route also but doesn't b20 work better with a victor x(correct me if im wrong)? Im still tryin to understand how to read graph with different mod but base on number victor x has better gains

Re: px or king motorsports px
The VicX will get you PEAK numbers, but if you look at graphs on setups w/ longer runners you will see MUCH better mid range, up to 15whp difference from 5k-7.5k over the Vicx. And the peak power alot of times only falls off a couple hundred RPM sooner. The runners are so short and the plenum so big the velocity required to make the VicX efficient on an NA build alot of times makes it unstreetable. I'll search for the thread mikeyspec did and report back. If you can make peak power sooner and carry it, it will get you down the track faster. Also, since it is a DD, I'd rather have more usable power than have to rev it all the time.

Re: px or king motorsports px
This is on a VERY healthy 1.8, but the results are similar on most B20V setups as far as powerband is concerned. https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/intake-manifold-test-results-1-8l-edelbrock-itr-ibspec-take-look-revised-2869703/

Re: px or king motorsports px
I should of mention this car probably will never see the track. Maybe a few time to see what my car capable of but that it. I have mikey spec n kings modify manifold thread save on my comp. So base on what ur sayin the px is better for me since mid range is what im lookin for in a dd n not top end

Re: px or king motorsports px
Yes. I still would like to urge you to look at the AEBS IM. It can be found for $200 shipped and is a great mix of the Px and Vx. That is if you decide to run with the B20 later. If you stick with the 1.8, the Px will be better all around hands down. The AEBS does fit much better though and has a downward taper for the GSR head at the end of the runners.

Re: px or king motorsports px
Ty for ur input n everyone eles ! Im just stick with the px since both engine still benefit for daily use. From what I read only fitment issue with px is the fuel filter which I mite do a line filter for more room.

Re: px or king motorsports px
I found my px for b16 applications on streetside auto for a decent price. It was around 275 shipped. Also, with the fpr fittment, im running aem rail and reg, had to order aem's kit that mounts to the bottom of the reg, and is a banjo fitting, like thet one included with their universal reg. No headache at all.

Re: px or king motorsports px
I picked up mine for $264 shipped, and that's not special pricing from knowing someone at a shop lol. Then add the $70 carbide porting bits because seriously the casting is awful! There are chunks hanging around and it's not even close to matching my ports. I'll surely post pictures when I'm finished with mine because it is staying the OTS length.

Re: px or king motorsports px
Yep, the numbers I made were on the stock intake mani and no cam gear tuning. Might go corn fed and looking for 220whp on an internally stock motor.
