well to answer your Q, there has been no cases as far as i know of a motor revving "too fast".....if anything, not fast enough

Re: motor revving too fast? (SOHCnonVeee)
Ok..besides the smart *** comments....somebody told me that if the motor revs too fast it could start to break down...as in he broke his cams due too his motor revving too fast during a pass! so...back to my basic question..is it possible to rev a motor too fast..?

hahhahahhahah, right
your friend is a moron
you can't have a engine rev "too fast" the faster it revs while in gear...the faster you will accerlerate.
a broken cam is the result of install error or abuse, or it's a mechanically defective piece

is it a school project? Really, over revving is a no-brainer. On stock parts, you can't rev up to 10,000 daily and expect it to still run like a honda. Besides, you must first come up with a motor that will make power to 10,000 and beyond.

meanb18- my question wasnt over revving..read and you would see that my question was..is it possible to rev a motor too fast(too fast does not mean over rev)...and all i needed was a yes or no answer but some people dont realize this and continue to post ***** more....but clearly from the ignorant responses ive gotten so far people either cant see that OR its just there way of saying....no you cant rev an engine too fast....

ok an example would be a light weight flywheel. having one would cause the motor to rev faster because of less mass to turn! verus having a heavier one.
a motor is all in sync so it will not "rev too fast" if by reving, something breaks because of "reving too fast" there is a mechanical malfunction or incorrect possible air/fuel mixture!

yea...and ive heard you can buy a flywheel too lite....does it just throw the whole engine out of balance if its too lite?...

Re: (SnoFlake EG)
yea i know its all BASICALLY the same... ...but when you are considering power and gettin it to the ground and the feel of raw power that pulls you away from the rest instead of easing into the power via turbo....its a totally different ball game...bra
