J30A1 Build Question
I have been building a J series engine out of my 1998 Acura CL the last few months and decided to 'recondition' the 6 connecting rod's. I ground the forging marks down and then polished them to a smooth finish. I did this to deny cracks a starting spot and clean up the rods.
I wasn't thinking after I did this and I assembled the bottom end, oil pan, oil pump, water pump but I didn't balance the rods. I think I only took a few grams off each rod but what kind of effects is this going to cause on the engine? Is it going to shake alot/ wear out quicker?
I know it wasn't smart, I probably shouldnt have done it but I'm just trying to find out what kind of damage it may or may not cause to the engine.
