Default HEY MANs all motor question

Hey hondatech I got a question . So i got this all motor b20vtec that dont want to start . Ive tried everything that has to do with spark but cant find the promblem . I was thinking , when i put the head on the block , my numbeer 1 cylinder was not TDC , I noticed it wasnt after i torqued down my cams . After i torqued my cams down i then put the number 1 cylinder TDC . Would that cause my car to not get spark ?

You would still have spark, however, your timing could be off if you didn't line the TDC markings up properly when installing the timing belt.

Do you have any spark at all, have you physically checked each cylinder for spark? If you don't have any spark, first check all of your grounds. Make sure they are clean and tight. Then you can start checking your ignition system. Cap, rotor, wires, ignition control module (ICM) and coil.

yes ive tested every cylinder for spark , also checked everything that has to do wih spark . My uncle told me before i torque down my cams that i needed everything lined up , but i didnt , first i torqued down my cams then lined everything up . so im thinking that would be the promblem . the car turns over strong but no spark

Sounds like a timing issue since you have spark

set your motor at TDC and double check your valve timing to crank and then you can check ignition timing from there.

If you simply bring your #1 cylinder to TDC and look down to see if your crank pulley is lined up with the pointer, your cam gears should also be lined up at the same time. If anything is out, you know what you have to fix before you'll be able to get the car to run.

a simple volt meter reading of your battery will tell you if you need anymore "juice" to fire it up. A Jump start isn't the answer. Did you do any wiring on the wire harness at anytime?
