Has My Engine Been Swapped? How Do I Check?
Ok, so I bought a 1997 LS TEG with 202k on the body, and paid $3,000. The car is just about rust free (TINY amount in ONE wheel well) and is in good shape.
When I bought it, the guy told me he had swapped the engine 10,000 miles ago, and I smelled something funny, but it was a decent deal either way so I went ahead.
I haven't had any problems yet with it (Besides an alternator which is starting to hum) but I'm still left wondering if I can see if the engine was indeed swapped?
TL;DR: Can I check if my engine has been swapped on a 1997 LS Integra?

This is a stock engine for this car.
If he said he swapped it , did he tell you what he put in the place of a B18B?
You have to give us more information here.

Check the VIN on the engine and compare it to the chassis VIN.
If you need to know where to look for the VIN that's what search/google is for.

look at the head. the casting numbers will say what year it was produced and it should coincide with the year of the car.

@OP Apparently the vin for the engine should be located "right above the oil pan on the block behind the header." According to another thread I just pulled up. That's for 96 and newer, so if for whatever reason the engine was older it wouldn't have a vin on block.
